  1. P0306 is misfire on Cylinder 6, Bank 2 ( engine's left side, second cylinder back from front of engine.)

If the coil connector is loose, you can get misfire. The mis-fire causes the O2 sensor to get 'bad exhaust' out of the cylinder and causes the fault code for mixture before primary catalytic converter 'bank 2'.

If the connector on the coil is secure, and if the coil is okay, ( and if the spark plug is okay... probably) then the mis-fire could be caused by a vacuum leak on cylinder 6. I believe the air plenum is removed to change the thermostat. It's been known to happen that the gasket between the air plenum and the head can fall out of place as the air plenum is lowered in place... or the gasket can catch on the clips of the fuel injectors as the air plenum is lowered in place.. and tear the gasket. Either of these would allow an air leak/vacuum leak.

The description written in the lead of the thread for 0306 doesn't fit P0306.

The fault code involving valve lift for cylinder 6 doesn't fit the pattern of the other 2. Could the description associated with 1352 be incorrect too?

Check for ignition problem or vacuum leak.. fix it and then clear the codes and try it to see if anything returns.

  2. Wausau, the doors lock independent of window position. There is a small rod the extends from the outside door handle to the latch assembly.

Remove the inner door panel, and moisture barrier, with small bright light, and maybe a mirror, look at the backside of exterior door handle for a rod that extends either toward the center of car (when door is closed), or downward. I believe one end of this rod is the socket of a ball/socket joint and it may be dislodged. There's a good chance you might be able to press it back on. If not, you will need to unbolt the door's latch, and manuver it around to get leverage, or tool position to re-attach.

  3. Did this prolbem continue? get worse?

Have you taken it to anyone?

I am working with a 2000 Boxster that has a tremendous howl/squeal when the engine is slowly decclerated from above 3000 rpm.

The sound seems to be emitted from the crankshaft - engine front. It occurs without the serpentine belt on the engine.

It continues to emit the sound even after the engine has reached and settled at idle.

It continues briefly - after key off and the crankshaft stops turning.

  4. 07 Boxster , w/Tip

I have a friend who desires all exterior lighting to auto-shut off using only the key.

Although the light switch provides the "home" position it doesn't provide headlamp on in this postion.

Does any model Boxster have the "Auto" position, similar to the Cayenne's?

Maybe its possible to retrofit the components from another.

Or, has anyone fitted an aftermarket auto shut-off system?
