  1. If thats where it normally parks then it sounds like it slipped round on the splines, lift up the nut cover at the end of the wiper arm slacken the nut, if not already loose, move the wiper to the required position and re tighten the nut. Im assuming that they work normally otherwise!

  2. Thanks for the reply, the reason I ask about disconnecting the Maf is that I understood that if you disconnect it it forces the ecu to run on default values thereby resulting in smoother running and thus identifying the Maf as the problem. I just need to know whether disconnecting it will throw a cell.

  3. Hi everyone, I think I may have a MAF problem, Im getting some surging and hesitation which seems to be getting worse. A few months back my opc said that they thought there might be an issue after they test dove it.

My question is, if I disconnect it to help isolate the problem an then later reconnect will it throw a cel, and if so will I need a code reader to clear it, secondly, can I clean it with throttle body cleaner.

    Thanks in anticipation.

  4. I have two suggestions, perhaps it might be worth checking that the linkage is properly aligned, secondly I have heard of tiptronics working in manual but not in tip mode as a result of a clogged transmission filter. These autoboxes are reckoned to be very reliable so I would look elsware first before considering exchanging the gearbox.

  5. Hi, I replaced mine a couple of years ago, its not too difficult. You need to establish whether or not yours has the e gas throttle. I seem to remember that there is a plastic link on the pedal which a ball joint at one end which can become dislodge, this happened on mine so worth having a look first. Its also possible the hinge has broken, I did a temporary repair on mine using a small door hinge. Definitely a DIY job, hope you manage to sort it soon.

  6. Hi all, I think I might know what my problem is but just wanted some confirmation and advice. 2000 2.7 tip with 80k smoking like crazy on start up in the morning and at the end of the day when I return home from work, little bit at other times depends how long I leave it to sit. Now I know the flat six is prone to a little smoke at start up but we are talking embarrassing levels here. No smoke during driving or on overrun, I'm thinking possible AOS, any thoughts/advice/costs etc appreciated. ps is there a way of bypassing the AOS to confirm diagnosis?

  7. In my experience if its a creak then its the ball joint which can be temporarily fixed with the injection method, however, it needs replacing. If its a squeaky creak!! over slight undulations in the road then its the inner rubber bushing, this can be temporarily fixed with WD or silicone but always comes back. I discovered the latter when I changed my track control arms a while ago, when I placed the inner rubber bush in a vice and moved it up and down I replicated the noise exactly.

  8. Just got back from the MOT station, the Boxster sailed through again, but the guy there confirmed what I had noticed the other day that the front side lights were quite dim, is this normal for a Boxster? I'm sure I have the 501 w5w bulbs fitted but does anyone know of something a little brighter, headlights are fine (relatively speaking).
