  1. Hang in there man, and keep pushing the issue with PCNA. It is entirely possible for them to cover the entire parts and labor bill. Depending on the findings of the postmortem, they very well may decide to cover the entire replacement (refurbished engine) cost.

A similar scenario happened to me about a year and a half ago. I returned my pcar to the originating dealership, and seeing the potential lifetime customer, PCNA covered the parts and the dealership covered the entire labor bill.

Hope it works out for you...

    Good Luck...

  2. Did you buy the car new, or CPO by chance? If you contact the dealership where you purchased the p-car, they may be able to help you out with some of the cost of a rebuilt engine. I had 42k miles on mine, and my dealership decide to cover part (most) of the cost for the rebuild. If you have a good relationship with your dealer, it is worth a try!

    Good luck...

  3. I went to remove one of my rear tires today, after getting a flat. I was able to nurse it home and get it into the garage, but when I went to remove the lugs, the lug key snaped in half! :cursing: Can I get a new key from any tire shop, or is it special to porsche? I really don't want to have to get it towed.. Any advice appreciated!!

    Thanks,

    Brant

  4. I was reading through past posts about the rear window de-lamination issue. I read a post by Kim on article: 996 convertible top unglued, Unglued where fabric/plastic window meet. The post indicated that a separation of the window, even at the bottom didn't expose the interior to weather.

Is this true? I have been scared to death to take my car out with even a 1% chance of rain, until I can get it fixed.

It would be a lot more convenient if I could drive it for the next month while I save up the money...

    Thanks,

    Brant

  5. I had a similar issue. I have a MY00 C2Cab. I am also the second owner, and have no warranty. I noticed oil residue in the coolant. I took the car to the original dealership, where I also have all of my work done. I authorized $2k for them to tear down the engine. They actually found a defect in the block, which caused it to crack. It had 39k miles on it. Long story short, I asked the sales/service manager to see what they could do. They decided to cover it under the original warranty, and fixed the problem for free. (referb engine)

Take it to the dealer and try to make a deal. If you talk to the right person, you may be able to get somewhere. They would rather have a happy customer now, and keep a loyal customer for the future.

    Good Luck!
