  1. guys, i have a cayenne turbo 2005 with techart lowering module installed the system was working great. kept it in the LOW mode and when i lock it it drops to LOADING. then all of a sudden about 4 months ago when the car raises itself back up to LOW level the air compressor turns on (as expected) but much louder than i originally remembered. it also stays on for quite a while and cylces more often when i am driving. i took it to the stealership who were no help and said the sound is normal, confirming this with another CTT. since then i have been driving with it in NORMAL mode and the air compressor rarely cycles as it is not raising/lowering constantly but the noise is still loud when it does. any ideas why this is happening? its frustrating as a i like to drive in low level. do you think this air pump repair kit will correct the noise?
  2. Does anyone have a copy of PCM install instructions for latest version? i just received 08.2009 updates for my NAV. came with 3 discs: 1. Map DVD 2. PCM 2.1 Multimedia Update CD Cayenne 3. PCM 2.1 Multimedia Update CD Navigation thanks matt
  3. dutch i am having the same issue. "loud buzz" from compressor. is the valve replacement piece expensive? big part? i am still under warranty but my dealer said the noise was normal... but i know for a fact it is too loud as it was never like that before. i will take it back soon i think.
  4. i run a set of 21" pirelli ice and snow tires for the winter on 21" sport wheel i am in calgary and we get lots of snow/cold temps. i am happy with tire performance smaller is better though but i didn't want to sacrifice looks
  5. the price for inspection might be different dealership to dealership.
  6. you definitely need a recall letter to clear the car with RIV i was able to phone Porsche NA and got a copy in the process of purchasing the vehicle (may-08). last year Porsche did not charge for this but other dealers (BMW/mercedes) charged a hefty fee for this letter. this might have changed...?? if anyone knows chime in... that is all you need to do to get the vehicle into Canada and registered as for warranty. my dealer "required" an inspection to validate the warranty. i argued with them that it was NA american warranty and it was BS. ended up paying the $270 . their argument was to test the whether the vehicle was overreved in certain gears etc. and if it was void the warranty on that gear etc.
  7. i imported my car last year. the inspection fee was 250 and that allowed me to transfer the CPO warranty that is a crazy markup on the inspection fee but well worth it if the warranty transfers. i still think you would be saving big $$ buying from US again, especially with the strenghening of the CDN$ and over supply of cayennes. i dont see why they would do an inspection if the warranty does not transfer??? that is the whole point of the inspection you also have to get your vehicle inspected at Canadian tire but that price is included in the RIV fee matt
  8. did a quick search: "You must determine the size of the rotors on your vehicle prior to ordering. The easiest way to figure out your brake size is to look at the caliper. It should have "17ZR" or "18ZR" cast into the body. 17ZR=330mm (black caliper), 18ZR=350mm (silver and red caliper). In general the V6 has the 330mm rotors and the V8 has the 350mm rotors." i will check my brakes tonight. but assume they are 350mm up front need to confirm rear
  9. thanks for the speedy reply loren any idea on the size 350 or 330mm for front rotors and rear i am ordering aftermarket pads and rotors so the Porsche part numbers are not applicable thanks again mt
  10. Loren, any chance you can look up my specific caliper/rotor size. I am ordering parts online to do a brake job and there are a lot of different sizes for the cayenne. I just want to make sure i order the right ones. I have a 2005 Cayenne Turbo (no power kit) VIN WP1AC29P25LA92692 Thx MT
  11. ya check the bulb i just replaced mine they are a PIA to replace as you need to use needle nose players
  12. not worth it in my opinion. the bose sub blows i have heard good things about the JL Stealth Box which fits flush in trunk with much better sound check out the recent 6speed post on this. there are a few easy alternatives. matt
  13. start with cat bypass pipes i can speak for practically everyone who installs them, they are great/must do mod! if you decide you want louder add mufflers after that
  14. quick update fuse is all good & bulb is brand new. i also added some di-electric grease at connection points. i have no clue what is going on here and the error message is making me go mad.... i unplugged the fog light fuse to make sure the issues were not related and the error persists any ideas? thanks if i take the car into the dealership for warranty i will likely have to replace OEM fogs so they don't void my electrical warranty?
  15. i found fuses in the manual. thx its not the bulb because i replaced it i doubt it is the bulb holder because i swapped it to other side and the issue persists on the original side. i am going to try some bulb grease
  16. can anyone post a a list of specific fuse locations for the drivers side box? how do you remove that panel to get access? i am having an issue with my indicator light ("check indicator warning") and my right signal flashes rapidly funny thing is the indicator will start working again when i turn the car off/on again. i replaced the bulb and that didn't fix the issue. i figure i should replace the fuse. this issue started happening after i installed aftermarket xenon fogs. i do not know how the indicator warning could be related to the fogs. i want to check all possible issues before i take it to the dealership as they might void warranty / blame it on fogs and charge me lots of $$. thanks matt
  17. im in calgary any issues parking cayenne in the cold (below 20 degrees Celsius) during the day? i dont have indoor parking at work :(
  18. no way to correct, should be 2.497% too slow http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp
  19. The brake cleaner removes the dust and grime, but isn't going to do anything for the vibrations causing the squeal. any reason why my brake squeal is intermittent? sometimes its bad. other times i hear nothing!
  20. this is a known issue for the cayennes we are chatting about it on 6speed forum a bunch of us are going to try a spray brake cleaner i will try it out this weekend.
