  1. I have an 01 Boxster and had the exact same problem last week...key stuck in ignition and not removable. Solution was as explained above..replace the switch. Its the black electrical gizmo at the tail end of the switch housing. I think I paid $35 for it at the Audi dealer. The top retaining screw is a pain to remove but it is doable with a jewelers screwdriver. Works like new now. Bob
