  1. I have silver GT3 RS wheels in my 997 C4S, I purchased them in http://www.wheelenhancement.com/index.php?...t=car&id=21 a they were a perfect fit, I also fitted to my car the front aerokit lip spoiler, it looks great.
  2. Yes I was coming home from South Padre Island, Tx and I topped the tank there with 93 octane gas. I attribute the power degradation to the high temperatures.
  3. This will answer your question. Two days ago I drove my C4S at speeds between 200 Km/h and 255 Km/h (+/-130 and 160 mph) for 160 KM (+/- 100 miles) at a toll highway somewhere in northeast Mexico, the exterior temperature was about 39°C (102°F), the oil temp reading was between 115°C and 125°C (240°F and 260°F) during the hi-speed driving. The coolant temperature stayed at dead center all the time (80°C, 175°F). The A/C was on all the time. I was a little worried about the condition of the oil at such high temperatures but the oil temp. gauge doesn´t have a red line so I guess everything was OK. The normal operating temperature in city driving at high ambient temperatures (35°C-40°C) is between 95°C and 105°C (200°F and 220°F). I should add that at that at almost 40°C and 1000' over sea level, the car seem capable of just a few more Km/h over the 255 km/h that I drove it, the acceleration at that point was pretty slow, maybe to 270 km/h tops (167 mph), well under the advertised 295 Km/h (183 mph). I wonder if the top speed tests are done at ISA temps and at Sea Level, with the A/C turned off. Maybe under that conditions the car can reach the advertised top speed. The drive was a pleasure anyway. I´m looking forward to the next one!!!
  4. Wow, the PDK equipped new 997 steering wheel has a new design, to change gears you have to push to upshift and pull to downshift, I´m sure this configuration is going to work much better than the current tiptronic steering buttons. I´m going to wait and check if the new steering wheel is back-compatible to my first gen 997 tip and if it is I going to put one in my car. The new wheels are also beautiful as well, I was about to purchase a set of RUF wheels for my car, now I´m not so sure, maybe I like the new wheels better.
  5. What I was talking about is that I´m looking for some kind of transmission software patch to make the tranny start in first gear from stand still all the time, without having to floor the gas or downshift by hand.
  6. Wow, I´d checked the FVD site to look for the steering wheel of my dreams and I saw one with paddle shifters but I did´t noticed one (the most expensive, by the way) with paddle shifter and multifunction buttons. The one they have listed has a leather/carbon fiber combination, I´m going to check If they have one in only leather or leather/alcantara combination. Thanks for your reply, now I just have to look for a transmission software Patch.
  7. My tiptronic´06 C4S has a multifunction steering wheel and I use the sw controls a lot but I would love to have the added fun of changing gears via paddle shifters instead of the +/- buttons on the sw that I cannot use properly, maybe because my hands are too big or I´m too clumsy. I looked into the aftermarket steering wheel manufactured by Ruf for tiptronic cars and I liked the paddle shifters and the thick rim but I´ll lose the other SW controls. Does anybody know if there are some aftermarket Shift Paddles that I can add to my car while retaining the OEM steering wheel? I think that I read somewhere that the 2009 Carrere with PDK transmission will have proper Shift Paddles, if that happen perhaps the OEM multifunction SW for tiptronic cars could be Back Compatible with older tip 997´s. Does anybody with more experience in the brand think that this could be possible? The other matter that I wanted to ask is if it’s possible to reprogram the tranny software to always start in first gear from stand still? I know that this is not too Eco Friendly but I play around a with the car when I use it and I find annoying that the car has to down gear whenever I floor the gas at a stoplight.
  8. Do you know if the front lip spoiler is the same used by the GT3? I have looked around and the original rubber/plastic ones are not so expensive. I was thinking in always having a spare lip spoiler painted in black to replace it whenever the one in the car gets damaged, I know it would be only a matter of time before that happens, but the car looks spectacular with the aerokit front end.
  9. I own a ´06 C4S tiptronic and I want to add the tequipment aerokit front bumper to my car, the question is if anyone knows how much is the front ground clearance affected by this addition? In the place I live some of the roads are not so good and some streets have a lot of speed bumps. I would greatly appreciate any help to address this concern.
