  1. Hey Harry, I'm Joe.

Really dig your Sebring videos. Find myself leaning as you go through the hairpin & 17.

Car sounds nice, any mods or stock engine? I've got an '01 non-S I tool around the 3 tracks in S.FL regularly & am always looking for ideas.

    Take care, Joe.

  2. Thanks Gus, Jmatta & Michael. Any advice you can give to us youngbloods is appreciated.
  3. Thanks Loren, It could be too old. It's the same fluid that was in there when I bought it in April '07. I didn't know I should change it after 2-3 events. 2 days of DE would make it 4 events, so it's time. The fluid I mentioned is ATE Gold 200 Racing & ATE Super Blue Racing, same specs, DOT4.(Change colors alternately to tell when old fluid is flushed completely) I found it in my automotion.com catalog I appreciate all of the good advice I've been reading here ... Thanks again.
  4. No, The left/right headlights & park lights can be turned on as all-left/all-right: Key out, headlight switch position-left (of off position) 1 setting for right bank of lights, or headlight switch position-left (of off position) 2 setting for left bank of lights. I wasn't aware of the key out, indicator stalk l/r ...
  5. Good afternoon! Attended my first PCA Drivers Ed session at a 2-day Sebring event in July, after 2 Auto-X events during the summer. In the words of Homer Simpson, "Whoo-hoo!". My '01 986 Boxster performed like a champ, especially given my green(literally my group) level of experience. Only now do I realize how & why these cars are built the way they are. My overbraking over the course of 2 days caused my brake pedal to almost hit the floor at the next to the last session, next to the last lap on the last day. My inspection shop said my brakes were fine earlier in the week. My instructor said I should probably switch to a higher-temp brake fluid, given the track temps that weekend(ambient was 100+). Once I cooled the brakes down, they returned to normal. Question: Does anyone have any suggestions for Brake fluids? I found ATE Racing Brake Fluid in the Porsche Performance Products that runs in temps of (F) 536 dry & 392 wet. Why can't this be purchased in FL? Thanks for your help.
  6. 1 other dumb question since we are discussing lights; How/When would you use the left-only headlight / right-only headlight? Thanks in advance ...
  7. Thanks to all! I only bought 2-packs of lights before I realized it may be a 1-light only setup. Makes a lot of sense now, especially since I've came up on them again in the pouring rain (S.FL. Monsoon season). In low visibility, it stands out, which is the point, isn't it? The more exposure I have to Porsche engineering, the more impressed I become.
  8. I have a 2001 Boxster, & only one of the rear fog lights work. I replaced both bulbs, but the other one doesn't come on. To confuse me further, I had a new Cayman in traffic with me recently, & only one of his worked also. Is this normal? Or was this coincidence?
