  1. Hate to bump any old thread, any idea what is the difference between the 03 and 04 cap? I have mine replaced with an 03 about 2-3 years ago but not sure if I should buy the 04. Thank you!
  2. A bit steep for a gas cap, plastic or aluminum. Who's else is going to see it but yourself?
  3. I'd get the GT3 brake ducts for $30 if you hadn't have them on the car already. Gives much needed cooling which is essential for effective braking. Stock brakes are very good already but a lot of people recommend swapping out the pads for race pads if that's what you'll be doing. Porsche sells factory sport pads which is a good compromise for light track/street but they only fit the S brakes. Don't get cross-drilled. Slotted is great for track but will accelerate pad wear. I'd suggest just stick with stock rotors unless you're planning to do a S caliper conversion then you're open with more option such as the PFC 2-piece dimpled rotors.
  4. Always put the same make/model snow tire on all four corners. http://www.tirerack.....jsp?techid=164 "Install SP Winter Sport tires in sets of four only."http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Dunlop&tireModel=SP+Winter+Sport
  5. The holes are pretty but rotors with no holes are better. The rotors with holes will eventually show hairline cracks and you'll have to replace them before they're worn down to minimum thickness. Not to mention the extra brake dust you need to deal with.
  6. Porsche or Brembo will not sell you the inner seals. Zeckhausen sells the complete kit or you can just get the inner seals from them. Shipping is quick and price is reasonable. You need 40 & 36mm for the front and 30 & 28mm for the rear. http://www.zeckhausen.com/
  7. http://986forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20975 See my write-up.
  8. Gummi Pflege is great. BMW no longer carries it (at least from the dealers I've been to in Toronto). It's readily available on ebay.
  9. Stick with 255, you always want as much rubber on the ground as you can for the back. Don't think 235/45/17 is a common size either. Don't think you want those crappy Dunlops. I heard good things here on the Eagle F1 GS-D3.
  10. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/porsche-boxster-history.htm
  11. Waste of time, money and you'll get free headaches. Like my mechanic said "If K&N is so good, why don't all car manufacturers use them on their cars?"
  12. Bravo! For every IMS car there has to be at least a dozen other cars that are trouble-free. I'll reference this post every time someone gets paranoid about driving their Box.
  13. Crazyness. I've never even removed the "tool" from the toolkit. Just a 5mm socket.
  14. Certain pad compounds eat rotor faster than the other. Factory pads will not do that, sport/race pads will.
  15. These tires are ranked above the PS2 in this comparo. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/compar...omparison_tests
  16. It's one of the many PCA events, basically an organized cruise if you will. You have to sign up for a spot ahead of time but this one is already full. They do this couple of times a year with different organizers and locations. You can check the Provinz or PCAUCR site for the fun run schedule.
  17. I did my emission month or two back with a Fabspeed catback, passed with flying colours. I only use Ultra94 as well (so was the original owner), if that matters. Any of you guys going to the fun run on June 7th? I'm not into wine tasting either! :P
  18. Headlight will come straight out (it's on a rail) once it's unlocked, the "socket wrench from tool kit" is just a 5mm socket, so you don't need to dig in the toolkit for that. Just replaced my H6W parking bulb and it's pretty straight forward. Just take your time not to scratch or break anything.
  19. I paid retail for them. Still cheaper than buying from my local dealer. http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/merchant..._Code=986Wheels
  20. I got them new from Suncoast. They're in correct boxster width and offset (no spacers required  ) and I think they're 18x7.5 and 18x9.
  21. Now you have an excuse to upgrade to the 3-spoke steering wheel.
