  1. I have same year same problem. Dealer said it is normal wear and that the top will not last forever. But no advice on preventing this. ON MINE IT SEEMS TO OCCUR BY THE FOLD AT THAT POINT RUBBING AGAINST NEARBY TOP MATERIAL. Some suggest treating the top which I have been negligent about but will do in the very near future. I may try inserting some slippery material when folding the top if I plan to keep it folded for any lenght of time.
  2. I am in my second + year with my 2007 boxster. I was told by the dealer originally to change the oil after a year or 20k miles - this seems consistent with all the reading I have done. I have only driven 7k miles each year. Dealer advised a one year service including oil change for $435. However there is no "one year service" listed anywhere. Then they told me I do not yet need the 2 year service since I have only 14k miles and do not track it even though the car is 27 mos old. Drives me crazy trying to figure out what should be done when.
