  1. Hi, I’ve almost got me (new to me) Panamera turbo sorted out (other than the front suspension). I have yet to drive a 970 that did not have the thunk/groin/squeaks in the front end, so I was wondering how many people here have had issues with theirs? reminds me of the old BMW control arms issue, but it seems like the 970 have to basically have most of the front suspension done to fully get rid of it. I see a lot of people doing various swaps but still have the noises, reading another forum I was surprised at how much should be done: Complete front end retorqe including Sub-frame (every nut and bolt) Upper control arms (both sides) – bushings crack – Part has been updated since 2010 Lower control arms (both sides) – bushings crack – Part has been updated since 2010 Front Sway bar bushings Front sway bar end links Full alignment Will Porsche contribute to this if it’s such a known issue?
  2. Yeah sure, just after I posted this I had to go for a drive and the error went away... Now I can read the Oil (which was full) Strange
  3. Hi I just picked up a 2010 Panamera Turbo and have started working on it (coils, plugs, filter, etc.) I now have the Oil Level (not pressure) failure alert in the dash. Just started and not related to the work I did. Just wondering if this is something I can reset with my Durametric to see if it comes back. In future planning (i want to do an oil change), is this something easily replaced during an oil change? Thanks in advance,
  4. As a note in some places the brake booster/controller is law depending on the size of the trailer. I am towing a 5000 lbs trailer with mine and so far so good (except for mileage) Bob
  5. Don't forget those numbers are unloaded Pepper too. If it's loaded with 4 people and all your boating gear your way over the limit. Get a beater truck. Bob
  6. Funny, Same problem here on an 05 CTT, should be a recall at such low mileage, these aren't bimmers Bob
  7. Hi, I've got a new rear wiper cap and switch for the rear window, but I cannot figure out how to get the whole thing off. I've taken off all the bolts, but can't see a way to get the arm and assemby off? I've checked the TSB's here but nothing goes into any detail. Looking for a little help Thanks, Bob James
  8. Hi, I do you about a lite every 1000Km's but I have heard this is normal in my 2005 turbo. Others will say it's way to high, which I agree, but I'm sure I saw on the PCA forum where this is normal, but I can't find the thread. Does anyone know what "normal" consumption is for these. Thanks Bob
  9. So i have to eat some crow on this one; I tired the BMC filters and there was a nice change in throttle response, but fowled both MAF's and had to eat the cost. Went back to stock and I miss the change. I will say though that I have read a lot of comments on "they let more dirt into the engine", and after doing some research found that all filters must adhere to a worldwide ISO standard for particulate filtering. So out of the box they must ba at a minimum as good as the factory ones. Now, when they get re-oiled I can't say they would be the same..... My two cents CDN :D
  10. An absolute must have for this is a flexible head screw driver; getting at the "inside" screw is a nightmare otherwise. Good luck
  11. Jut did the upgrade to my 05 turbo, follow the TSB, you need to put the CD in the drive; upgrade, shut down, wait, put the other cd in hte cd player; upgrade, insert DVD you're done. Now I can find my own neighbourhood Bob
  12. Well it turns out it's the crank shaft position sensor. I don't know how much these are but I am surprised such a little thing can cause the whole engine to die.... I guess it's the price you pay for soooo much electronics
  13. I don't have a Duramentric (yet) but it's going in on Friday. The idle seems to be off at times as well. I'll post the outcome here. I'm just waiting for the dealer to try to say it's my fault, but that's another story. Cheers
  14. Hi, My 05 CTT started failing this week; when at a stop the engine would just stop, lights on everything working fine. I would notice by the RPM at 0, put it in neutral and fire it up then go on my way. The CEL fianlly came on and I have a service appointment but I wanted to find otu if this is a common thing. I was in service abotu a month ago and got two new MAF's (they claim due to BMC air filters), but that's a whole other saga. I have not put new gas in (half tank) so I don't think it's fuel related. I have notice idel being a little different at times; some times 950, others 650, but there is no warning when it happens. Any thoughts would be great.
  15. Let us know the outcome. I have the same issue, though not a frequent; if I gover over a speed bump or off my driveway there is a clunk in the passenger side wheel well only. I`m going to be checking al the mounts and sways/drop/etc. 2005 CTT
  16. I don`t know what OPC is, but if dealer, I don`t know any that would have sold it in this condition. As well this should show the value of a PPI as all of these things should have easily been found and the price adjusted accordingly.
  17. So I'm missing something here, I called the dealer to get updated DVD's and they said "oh you have to bring it in for service to update the maps"? So what am I missing that I have to waste a day updating software; can I not do this myself? It's software.... Any one able to clue me in as to what's required to update the maps/SW? Thanks
  18. New wheels?? Yes I got them from another enthusiast, Champions, about 25Lbs lighter per wheel. :D
  19. I had the issue a couple of times, pressure washers are also not good for them. On my second time I actually need the dealer to reset them as they would not reset to normal even after cleaning.
  20. I started with the BMC filters and IPD plenum, and the sound change is nice on throttle. I've got the bypass pipes and waiting for the time to do them, but I would assume that the combination will be a great sound, not to mention a few ponies.
