  2. Good info, thanks for that. The spoiler switch will raise, but not lower. I think i need to operate the switch and see if i'm getting voltage in the back, trying the down position, and swap the relays just to make sure they are both good as I think they are. Thank you
  3. Sorry, I have another question... After pressing the lock button on my 1997 Boxster, I get the marker lights flashing after about an hour, totally random. I can lock the car with the remote, and all looks fine, about an hour later, the marker lights flash. You can press the alarm button to clear the issue and open the car. When unlocking, you hear the doors unlock, and the markers flash once. When you lock it with the remote, it takes 30 to 60 minutes for the lights to start flashing. If you let it flash, it goes for about 5 minutes, and then stops. Is this some kind of false alarm? Any insight appreciated. Thank you. Flask.
  4. Interesting... The relays in slot 3 and 9 are identical, relay in slot 10 is different. With the spoiler up, I swapped 3 and 9, and it would not go down. I pulled the trunk carpet out, and powered the spoiler down with a batter charger directly from the harness on the motor. Once down, I could bring the spoiler up again with the interior switch, proving both relays were good. Interesting... From what I can tell, the motor will go up and down with out issue, and the relays test out fine. While driving, the spoiler will go up, but not back down. Do I need to start looking at a wheel speed sensor issue? Soulds like I need to bring it in to a dealer, it's getting beyond what I can do in the driveway. I can just power it down and pull the relays, that will keep it down all the time, and that doesn't bother me. I just get the trouble light when I hit the mark when it's supposed to go up.
  5. To add further confusion, I went to the dealer. The parts guy say it's the relay in slot #9, not #10, that's opposite ov everything I have researched and read. They didn't have a relay in stock anyhow, so I have time to figure it out I guess. I showed him my service manual and wiring diagram that supports my claim, he had no idea. I'll try and fine a better qualified parts guy somewhere else for help. I would bring it in for repair, but I don't want to pay them several hours to figure out what relay does what.
  6. Hello, I'm currently having trouble with my spoiler on my 1997 Boxster, and I think I have isolated it to the "spoiler down" relay. Am I correct when I say the relay position for 'spoiler down" on a 1997 is #10? I'm referring to the rear left relay panel in the trunk. Thank you. What I think is correct: 1997 Spoiler Extend #3 Spoiler Retract #10 1998 and Newer Spoiler Extend #3 Spoiler Retract #9
