  1. Do you get the same static noise if you tune your radio to an AM station, or is it just limited to your cd playing? Regards, Maurice. nope only when i play a cd. i was thinking maybe something isnt grounded but i dont know much about this car
  2. does anybody have this problem? this just started happening to my car recently. i got a 01 boxster s when i use the radio everything is fine but then when i switch to a cd, (6 disc cd changer) sometimes i get this static noise and then it just gets louder to where you cant hear the song anymore.. i was wondering if there is a way to fix this. ive tryed differnt cds and it does it to all of them but sometimes it doesnt do it.
  3. ya thats true, park place porsche over here in dallas, tx quoted me 70 bucks not to bad like you said compared to a overheated engine
  4. ya remember me from the other post about my serpentine belt. well the belt didnt brake it was the tension pulley, it fell off and some how it stayed on that plastic liner on the bottom i found it and put it back home then drove the car home. the car is running fine but theres just that loud noise.
  5. ive searched and searched and i still cant find out what the torque specs are. can anybody help me.... i need the torque specs for a 2001 boxster s, tension pulley (accessory) and if it squeaks should i put a little lube grease or wd-40 or should i replace it??? it fell off before and i had to put it back in so im not sure how to tell if its still good or not. i put it back on and everything is working fine but its making this loud squeaking noise
  6. Your way off with all the symptoms pointing to the belt. To many system failures to be anything but the belt. thanks for all the help, i found out the problem, the tension pully fell off :( so i had to put it back on and changed the belt because the belt that was on it was pretty tight so im guessing it was unscrewing the tension pully at the same time, i have to go replace the battery now thou
  7. is there a thread in here or can you tell me how to get to the engine bay so i can replace the belt
  8. thanks for the help thats what i was guessing because i had that on my lexus is300 it was all powered by the serpentine belt. do you think my water pump and thermostat is going to be bad??

  10. i just bought my 2001 porsce boxster s had 41 almost 42k miles and i barely had it for a week. currently has 42,090 miles i was driving home last night and then the battery light turned on then my car temperature jumped all the way up. it keeps overheating and when you just turn the key all the way but not turn on the car. on the right of where the mileage is i think its the oil level but its in between the line is that right or is it supposed to be past the top line? what is causing my car to overheat i think its the thermostat. but i dont know how to get to the engine can some1 help me!! thanks
