  1. I have owned my MY98 Boxster since Aug 08 and every time I run the car, I get bits and pieces of black foam rubber out of the vents. I checked the Enviro filter and all looks good there. Any ideas on what it is I'm chasing?
  2. I wish my horn didn't work! the 4 spoke wheel makes it easy to inadvertantly beep the horn while just driving along. Someday I'll be able to afford a 3 spoke wheel...
  3. Read up on the PCA website as well as here on RennTech. I sold my '82 911 to jump headfirst into a boxster and found that there is quite a bit one should know ahead of time. There's a manufacture date range PRIOR to '99 that will reduce risks of engine probs, then after 2003 I think they get to be a lot better. I bought mine knowing it needed some lifters to be replaced, and once fixed, the car has proven to be awesome. The newer you buy, the more ponies you'll aquire too.
  4. Brad, Thanks for helping the economy! What better a way than to build rebuild a Porsche. :D
  5. I'm interested in changing the instrument lighting over to red LED's. Anyone done this? How hard is it to get to the orignal lights? Who's a good vendor?
  6. Has anybody done the hack using some other sort of switch instead of adding the stalk?
  7. I too have this "P" code, but the car sems to run fine. other users have actuall symptoms, should I be worried? Also, I dont have the CEL coming on...
  8. If you change tire/wheel size, what about changing speedo calibration?
  9. We do this all the time on Aircraft engines, so it's not far fetched to assume wew could do it with our Boxster engines. We just need a company that knows the baseline metallurgy.
  10. I am wondering what OBD II tool people are using to read codes and reset? PST2 seems increadibly expensive. Will off the shelf scanners do the same job?
  11. I need to have right bank of lifters repalced in my 98 Boxster. Anyone know of a good reputable independant shop in Atlanta ?
