  1. What about the passenger side vent, behind the door? Is it a straight shot to the motor? Would the fan be too big an obstruction?
  2. I'm pretty sure the 350Z weighs more than the Box as well.
  3. Ekam's right. If you're not racing, go with the best brand name you can afford.
  4. If you're not concerned with wringing every last second from a lap time with your tires, I suggest you go with inexpensive, long wearing, good wet weather, name brand tires. Tire Rack has an excellent system of customer reviews that can help when you decide what charateristics are important to you.
  5. Well, that probably explains it. In looking back, I can see where I missed that fact. Thanks guys...
  6. Not yet. Figured to have it working first before messing with that step.
  7. Didn't go to CLT, went to Porsche of Greenville. Will go to CLT if someone is willing and capable of helping. I'd think any dealer should be able to turn off your airbag light. Don't you have Hendrick's Porsche up there?
  8. I've been trying to get my computer turned on at the local dealer but it isn't happening. We used the techniques found here for the PIWIS but still nothing. I can't say enough about the dealer as they've been very patient with me but i can't impose anymore. So now I'm asking if anyone has a PST2 in the Greenville SC area and would perform this feat of magic for a fee.
  9. It's usually straight forward. Can you compare the new light to the old, specifically any points that contact the car? Also might help if you could post some photos of the problem.
  10. I don't believe these cars to be high maintenance but they tend to be expensive to fix. Most what you listed is normal wear and tear.
  11. The Boxster has an oil/coolant heat exchanger that uses the coolant to warm the oil on a cold engine. When it reaches about 190 degrees, the process is reversed with the oil dissipating heat to the coolant. Be that as it may, I still idle for a minute or two on cold mornings.
  12. I have a rear windscreen for sale. If you're interested, PM me
  13. Decided to just change the Tach. FVD is out of yellow Tach faces for the 986 so I went looking around and found this. Anyone heard anything or have experience with them? Meister Meister Pics
  14. Has anyone replaced their stock white or black gauge faces with colored ones? If so, where did you get them?
  15. Still use it to hold the owner's manuals because I'm usually so content listening to the engine music that when it's time do something with the cryptic CDR-220 radio, I have to read how.
  16. Have you tried rocking the car fore & aft while trying to shift? Used to work on a friend's VW Passat.
  17. I'd just like to get this nailed down as this was my third trip there and I'm gonna wear out my welcome. I remember being in the instrument cluster page but not DME. Didn't see anything about it there. Do you have to turn it on in DME to even get it to show up in instrument?
  18. Finally went to have the OBC turned on at the local dealer and using Yoseif's well written instructions for a PST2, myself, the service manager and a service tech tried this trick with a PIWIS. They were as patient as one could expect but there were obviously some changes between these two instruments that make Yoseif's instructions obsolete. Can someone supply the correct menu path using the latest PIWIS?
  19. There's got to be better places to cut corners.....
  20. That's them! Still very reasonable. Attaching them is simple and they stay put. And as Kevin said, well shaped and sized.
