  1. I have a 996 C4 about ever tenth time i start it the over temp light will blink and it will not stop blinking till i restart the car of course it never does this when i am near my mechanic so all codes are clean ideas?
  2. I am still having this issue. Let me be more clear. The seats in my 996 c4 move forward and back. When I pull up the (poorly placed) handle (apparently designed buy the same guy that designed the key location) the driver seat slides forward by its self When I do the same on the passenger side the seat does not slide forward by its self I need to push the seat forward. There must be some spring or strut that pushes the seat forward that has gone bad on the passenger side. Does any on have a parts diagram for the seats so I can find this part?
  3. i will thanks. Like i said i have no idea what it is and it only makes the sound when accelerating. So I can not make it make the sound in the shop
  4. From time to time when start my car from totally stopped, I get a short squeak. This never happens at speed only when accelerating from 0. Any ideas? 1999 996c4
  5. I have a 996 C4 and the cool tail fin that I can put up or down. wow how cool! My question is. Are there any performance stats on that tail fin? Do I get more down force? Better gas mileage? Cooler running temps? What is the point?
  6. I have a 996 C4 i get 13 MPG if i drive it hard and 16 MPG if i dont How about you?
  7. i run 285x30x19 in back with no issues I run 245x35x19 in frount and they will rub in extreem low speed u turn but not when driving
  8. Ok another strange thing on my 1999-996 C4 If I over fill the oil OR let the gas run too low in the car then I get a CEL. The code is for an O2 sensor #1 on bank #2. Once I put gas in the car or take out some oil the light clears. Yes yes I know the simple solution of not putting too much oil in or letting the gas run too low. Any idea on what could be happening? Any estimates on O2 sensor replacement? Thanks
  9. My bad I think I was unclear. Right now when I set the alarm a get 2 blinks. I would like to get 2 chirps of the horn so that I know that the alarm is set. On other systems I have had it was just a dip switch setting to make this happen.
  10. 1999 996 C4. Is there any way to change the stock alarm so that it chirps 2 time on alarm set and chirps one on alarm off. Right now it brinks the turn signals 2 on set and once on off. I have a hard time telling if the alarm is set in the sun. of course winter is coming in Seattle and I will not have this issue for the next 6 months but it would still be nice to know
  11. my understanding is that an engine needs some backpressure. bypass removes just about all of it so you'll experience some loss of torque at low RPMs. as to whether or not they'll add 12 HP, the only way to know for sure is to dyno your car with them. try getting on a dyno check the HP and then get on the dyno again without mufflers. this will show you what changes, if any, you'd experience with bypass pipes. its has been proven that NOTHING ADDS ANY SIGNIFICANT power increase to NA engines other than a SC. i have had muffler by-pass pipes.. and other than sounding wonderful... do not add HP... and for street use are not good as they shift the torque curve way up... noticably. make your own with 90' stainless elbows, weld straight sections to them... get a shop to flare out one side so that they slide over the exhaust.... add tips... or not.... WAY CHEAPER...same result cool thanks that is what i needed to know
  12. thanks for the help It was a bad O2 sensor #1 on bank #2 I believe this is the O2 sensor before the CAT but I am not 100% sure anyway I had the mech. suck out the extra oil and the light went away after about 30 miles. Perhaps these are totally unrelated and it is just one of those strange things that happen but who know.
  13. thanks that is good information. On closer examination the seat is sliding well but it seems there is not enough spring pressure. Can the spring be replace?
