  1. Loren, Is that modual near the upper front passenger side somewhere? I have the same whinning sound and I hear it mostly when at idle at a stop light during normal operating temp. I actually had a friend drive and was sitting in the passenger seat and heard it and it appears to be coming from the front, am I wrong? It eventually goes away and all is good again. But mainly when I notice it is when in traffic or at a street light, etc. Thanks, Johnny No, the air pump is near the left rear in the engine compartment. You are likely hearing either the HVAC fan or the fuel pump. The HVAC fan can be turned off for troubleshooting by hitting the down arrow until it says "oFF". Ok thanks for that clarifications. Ill have to drive it around and see if it does it again and jump out right than and there (hopefully not at a street light or in traffic  ) and try to narrow down the noise. Once again I was just hearing it from the the passenger side window so I never really narrowed it down. But if it is the HVAC fan or the fuel pump where would those be located? And also what is the HVAC? And last but not least where would I go to toggle through to turn it off? I dont think it would be the fuel pump would it? Also in the passenger front there is a smaller radiator right would that fan maybe going bad?

  3. Does anyone know or have a rear passenger speaker for a 2000 911 Cab in Black? Long story short I had the speakers on the center island because I was working on the side rear window and didnt get to put it back on and got home from work today and my younger dog decided to go all out crazy with it! So I need to find a replacement. If anyone can point me in the right direction or have one laying around please let me know either by reply, PM or email. Thank you, Johnny
  4. Off the top hope you don't mind. Anyways h ow much did the top replacement cost you? I was looking into wanting to do this for my 2000 but I was told it wouldn't work or fit properly?
  5. The 3rd radiator is in the center of the front bumper. So by removing the front I will have access to all three radiators. Perfect. Thanks again. Will work on it over the weekend and will report back.
  6. Can someone tell me all three locations of the radiators and which ones have fans? This is a tiptronics tranny so Im assuming both drivers and passenger side will have fans right? I believe reading that tiptronics have 3 radiators but where would the third one be?
  7. Allspeed, Thanks Ill do some searches on Youtube and on here and report back on my findings. Hopefully its something simple! PRAYING!
  8. Sorry and Thanks for the reply Loren. Hopefully its one of the three minus the head gasket or cracked cylinder liner. Just a thought if its one of these two wouldnt there be oil or some sort of residue in the coolant? Because mines clean with no traces or spots what so ever? Just a thought?
  9. Revised: Sorry forgot the important stuff: 2000 C4 Cab, US model with Tiptronics Car has about 63k on the tach Ive been noticing that the coolant level has been getting low on occassions and I will have to keep refilling it. On top of that when at a stop or in traffic theres a loud whinning sound I believe the radiator fan may be the cause of it and probably damaged my radiator so its leaking slowly and want to check both passenger and drivers radiators. A few questions: It is not normal to having to fill up the coolant on these cars right? If not does anyone know where a good spot to look for a leak would be? Most common areas? And last but not least can someone provide me step by step procedures on how to access both radiators. Thanks, J5
  10. Ok I havent been able to really verify where its coming from. When Im standing outside the car it never seems to happen. It didnt happen for a few days and than earlier when my girlfriend was driving it she heard it again at a street light. I had her drive up the drive way and was trying to listen and nothing. PTEC do you happen to know where the fuses are and which one is for the passenger side? I was also wondering how hard is it to access both radiator fans so I can see if they are bolted correctly, etc??? Could someone provide detail instructions. Thanks again!
  11. Ill double check everything tomorrow but I believe its coming from the front passenger side. Where exactly is the fuel tank vent valve anyways and what exactly does it do?
  12. I believe I tried it on and off and at a stop I can still hear it. Ill confirm everything tomorrow as I didnt drive the car today and got home late today.
  13. I have a 2000 Porsche C4 that has a weird whinning sound that appears to be coming from the front. It kind of sounds like a radiator fan but I dont think it would make a noise like that but I could be wrong so Im asking you all for some advice and help. When driving it appears to be fine and cant hear anything but when at a stop it kicks on and shortly after driving off it stops. It appears to be only happening when its warm but Ill have to confirm that. Also trying to figure out if its coming from the front or end. Has anyone encountered something like this before? Is there like a water pump thats up in the front of the car that could be making a sound like Im describing? Could the radiator fans make a noise like that? I have a tiptronics so I believe there are 3 radiators on this car can anyone confirm? And if so where would they be located? Thanks for any help. Johnny
  14. Really? I dont think thats the cause of the issue though. Im actually driving the car today and so far everything is fine! Im wondering if it just happen to be a fluke that day?
  15. I believe its only 3 to 4 Years old from previous owner will have to check the service records she gave me when I bought the car.
  16. Can I get the relay at any automotive store or is it only Porsche specific? Also where is it located and which one is it that I need to replace? Thanks in advance.
  17. Yea it just cranks and cranks and cranks and nothing it wont catch. Its kind of like its not sparking or throwing fuel into the cylinders. Starter and Ignition seem fine. I dont see why spark would be an issue but I havent looked or tested it so Im thinking its either a relay or pump but at that mileage is this common?
  18. I just went out again to test it and to get any readings using my scanner and nothing. Its not reading any faults what so ever and the car still starts up. Ignition Switch seems fine. I was wondering if it could be the fuel pump or relays? I doubt its the fuel pump though because it primes just fine than when it wouldnt start and now and with only have 50k miles on the car it shouldnt go bad that quick? What do you think?
  19. My girlfriend drove the Porsche today to work and back and decided to stop by the store earlier today and when she got back to the car it wouldn’t start. So I drove out there and tried to start it myself and it’s trying to start and I can hear it trying to catch but it just won’t start. I turned the ignition off and then switched it back on and can hear the fuel pump priming itself but nothing. We let it sit for a bit and still no luck. So we ended up towing the car home and tried it one more time and nothing so I decided to take a break from it. After going back out a few minutes later I figured I would try to tackle it again and took my Diagnostic Scanner with me and figured what the hell why not try to start it again before checking codes and it fired right up. No signs or warnings of anything wrong with the car and today is the first time and it’s not like the car just died while driving it was when she stopped. Anyone know what the issue could have been? I started the car a few more times and its starting with no issues what so ever no hesitation nothing. Thanks in advance. Johnny
  20. Whats the recommended PSI for the current tires now? I have them at 35? Should I put them higher?
  21. 2000 Porsche Carrera 911 brake sensors just came on so now Im in need of doing a brake job. Is it better to just replace the rotors or get them resurfaced? If I was to replace them what brand would you recommend? OEM? Etc...? Also what pads should I go as well? Thanks
  22. If I was to go with the 285.35.18 do you think that will cause any issues? I really dont want to go that low of a profile. Roads around here arent the greatest either.
  23. So just want to confirm if this will be ok? Fronts: 235.40.18 Rears: 285.35.18 Since Im going bigger in size should I bring the middle numbers down as well? For ex. Fronts 235.25.18 or Rears 285.30.18 ?????
