  1. Hey guys, Thanks in advance for any help you can give. I am pretty good with old '60s muscle cars, but for the Boxster, I'm pretty lost with terminology and DIY fixits, but I'd like to learn and try it out. Here is what is going on: Out of the blue, both of my windows started rolling down as if I'm putting the convertible top down. This happens while driving with no apparent coinciding action. They will not go back up, regardless of opening and closing the top, restarting the car, forcefully closing the top lock and just pushing the window toggle switch to close it. I've been able to close them on a few occasions by messing around with the top lock lever, but it usually takes about 15 minutes to get it to work. After driving with the windows up those few times, it was a matter of minutes before they would roll down about 4 inches again. The windows always do this together, at the same time. After about a week of this, each individual window started opening fully, of its own accord, at random moments. Like the previous situation, this seems to happens while driving with no apparent coinciding action. I can roll them back up with the toggle switch, but only to the height that enables the convertible top to be opened. So, basically, my windows are always open about 4 inches and randomly open fully while driving. Ugh. Now, I'm assuming this is a problem with the top lock microswitch (correct terminology please?), but any other ideas would help greatly. Also, if you have any advice on where to buy new/used Porsche parts, that would be great. I'm located in Los Angeles, but am well versed in online shenanigans (ebay, craigslist, mail order). Thanks again!
