  1. I was just in a left turn. I had to withstand g-loads somehow. :P
  2. When I was cruising down the autobahn today :drive: at about 135+mph I heard a quite loud squeaking/whistling noise when I released the gas pedal and the car lowered it's nose due to motor braking. When I pushed my hand against the passenger side window where it seemed to come from the noise changed. When I kept the car at present speed it even vanished. Checking the car in a parking lot I found the window fitting neatly into the rubber seals and didn't see anything that would cause aerodynamic noise. But obviously the change of airflow along the window while releasing the gas ist enough to make the car whistle. It had it's door replaced in april due to someone bumping into it while backing up but has already been driven at around 150mph without making any such noises. That is according to my brother in law who owned the car before. So I guess it has nothing to do with door adjustment. Any ideas or recommendations? It's hard to test it since I have to go quite fast and at the same time look and listen for the cause of the noise. I'd rather rely on your experience ... Thanks, Thorsten
  3. You guys are amazing... After seeing the pictures I'm sure I can do this mod without the TÜV (Official technical check you have to pass here in Germany every two years) noticing it :D Thanks for the link Tool Pants
  4. Talking about lights: I just had my headlights pulled out today and was wondering if it's possible to remove the inner orange glass of the turn lights on my MY 99. If so, I figured I could then replace the bulb by a chromed orange one like pictured below and have REAL white turn lights. Thanks, :notworthy: Thorsten
  5. Sorry for the missing MY but your reply is just fine since I do have a MY99 Thanks for your help, I will post the result of the repair a soon as I can. (That's after I've found the time to do it) :P Thorsten
  6. Hi! Anybody here who would be able to tell me how the roof lining comes of? It looks like I have a rattle from the roof tensioners about 20cm behind the B-pillar on the left (drivers) side. Shouldn't be that much of a problem if I could only get access to the area. Happy Holidays from 'Porsche's Own Country' :drive: Thorsten
  7. Okay first you'll need the description from Loren on how to disassemble the visor. If you don't have it yet, just send me a mail and I'll will forward it to you. This way we don't bother loren with the same request over and over again. In my case the brass clips were still there so I could use them again. If you're careful when removing the mirror part you should be able to find them inside the visor since they can't just disappear in there. Most likely they are still intact because its the plastic part that is designed to break :cursing: If the clips look more like a V than a U, adjust them . Otherwise they will not have enough tension to hold the mirror cover up later on. As I said you'll need one of these: I've added the picture because I suppose it's not really called a hot glue pistol in english. Okay, then use some small pliers to press the brass clip in place. Most likely the plastic piece will now fail completely and you will find yourself searching for the clip. A light interior color will help :) Meanwhile you should have heated the glue pistol and now use it to fix the clip in its position. I did this alone and with the visor still attached to the car, so if you can find a second person to hold the pliers while you do this you'll be less frustrated. Make sure to apply the glue generously and since it doesn't really deserve the name 'glue' but is rather liquid plastic you have to assure a mechanical hold. THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT.Do this by squeezing it sideways under the plastic (arrows). Don't worry, nobody will see the mess after reassembling it. Now you need to wait about one minute for it to get hard. (The glue!) You might have to extend the waiting since I had close to freezing point inside the car that day  After that you can remove the pliers and now cover the clip fully with the glue (at this stage my camera's battery failed so no more pics). Reassemble and you're done! The whole thing will take about 30-45 min. This week I've exchanged the trunk lever with the new alloy version and put in a 'Becker Traffic Pro Highspeed' nav-radio. My next project will be removing the roof rattle so I would appreciate if someone could give me instructions on how to remove the roof lining..
  8. Thanks for the instructions Loren! Don't know what happened with my last post so I'll just try again: Is anybody interested in a description how to fix the visors? I used a 'hot glue pistol' for that (at least that's what we call it in Germany) an could post some pictures here. Thorsten
  9. Hi Loren, I just found this thread since I just bought me a 99 carrera 4 last week :D :) and have the same problem. I'd appreciate if you could also send me details via email. Thanks, Thorsten
