  1. OBC and cruise is 996.613.219.10.EWC OBC only is 996.613.215.10.EWC On either one you will need to move the caps (with the printing on them) from the old stalk to the new one. OK, thanks! Since I have the computer (and therefore 4 stalks), I will need the 219, correct?
  2. I've got a 2002 911 Turbo... My turn signal stalk is broken--I know I can't just replace that stalk, I need to replace the entire steering column switch assembly. I've looked at the schematics, and can't tell which part I actually need--I've found two that appear, to me, to be identical. Anyone know which one? Either part 996 613 215 10 or 996 613 219 10 Thanks, :renntech:
  3. As far as the double DIN stereo, I just installed a Kenwood DNX8120 in my 2002 Turbo and have been VERY happy with it. The Nav is by Garmin and very good, it has built in blue tooth for hands-free phone and will interface very nicely with an iPod and any other MP3 player. B)
  4. I just had mine out because I was doing a double DIN radio install--I don't know the part number, but I'm sure a dealer or supplier could help with that. Removing it was pretty easy: 1. Pull the horse shoe trim piece off (just held on by clips--pry it gently and it'll pop off). 2. Disconnect the various rocker switches (or just pop them out from inside the horse shoe) so you can get the horse shoe completely out of the way. 3. Pull the center vents out--between the top of the housing and the dashboard there are two clips holding this in--a flat, long screwdriver should be able to get in there and disengage the clips (located about center of each vent opening). 4. Locate the 4 #20 Torx screws (one in each corner) of the plastic housing holding the radio and climate control unit. Remove these screws and the housing should become loose. 5. Gently pull the entire housing toward you. I'm not sure, but you may need to remove the radio and climate control units to pull it out far enough--I don't think so, but you may... 6. The cup holder is just a flat unit in the top of the housing, it should be able to be slipped out toward the rear of the unit and replaced with a new one. 7. Put everything back in reverse order and you should be set to go. If I missed anything or didn't get something right, someone please correct me--I'm going off memory here :D Good luck B)
  5. I installed the same set! I was very pleased with the quality--they look OEM B) Hardest part of the install was drilling through the metal brake pedal--of course once I got the right drill bit it was a lot easier :P
  6. I thought I had reconnected it to the bracket--but perhaps it slipped free. Is that the wire which communicates with the alarm? Can that wire just be grounded to work? Thanks. EDIT: I went back and just unplugged the single wire (brown/blue) from the spade connector on the side of the housing...I armed the alarm and sure enough, it works. Not sure I understand why it would work that way, but it does. Maybe that wire loops back to a connector in the original radio? Anyway, thanks for the tip!
  7. 2002 996TT, Bose factory system... I just finished the install of a double DIN Kenwood DNX8120--following all steps in the DIYs found here and 6speed, etc. I wired it with a Metra harness matching wire for wire and connected directly to the factory harnesses. Now, when I lock the car and arm the alarm system, I get a single horn indicating a faulty zone. The doors remain locked, but the LED doesn't flash indicating the system's not armed. It has to be something in the wiring of the new stereo versus the old CDR22. Is there a wire in the factory harness I need to ground? Is there a pressure switch that the old radio pressed that the new one isn't (that was the case in my old Z3...)? Any thoughts and help would be greatly appreciated B)
  8. :D Finished my install today :D The switch lights and everything. Awesome idea, thanks for sharing :renntech:

  12. My dealer gave me a code--guess it wasn't the right one because I entered it 3 times and now the display just says WAIT... I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it still says WAIT. How do I clear the holding pattern???????? And may I please request a code to try? 2002 996TT Becker CDR-220 Type 4462 Model #BE 6625 SN 15004513 Please tell me I don't have to go back to the dealer to have the WAIT removed :(
