  1. Does anyone know what the color code is for the black GT3RS wheels? TIA
  2. My 05' 996 C4s is 18 months old, has 6000 miles, and I've never done anything to the car except add oil when needed. The car runs and sounds perfect. Since I've had the car for this long, but only have 6000 miles, is there anything I should do? or wait for the 15k scheduled? 15,000 miles is probably another 2 years away since it's not my daily? Thanks for any input.
  3. I had a screw in the center of my right rear tire within the first few hundred miles of owning the car. I took it in to a local Discouint Tire center, and they fixed it with a "high speed patch". That was about 5000 miles ago, and the tire has maintained the same air pressure since the patch, and I drive hard and aggressive. If your tires are worn (not a few hundred miles like mine) then I would get new tires.
  4. A few months ago I got my C4S to 137mph, on a bridge. It was fairly stable with a slight crosswind. Last week I went 150mph on a lightly travelled highway, and the car was very stable, with no loose steering or car wable. I could have easily gone faster with confidence, but ran out of straight highway. I don't know what my tire pressure was, but I do have the P-SS9 suspension, with a lower ride height. Prior to PSS-9's I had the stock suspension and at 125mph, it felt a little "floaty".
  5. Rather than painting the rims, does anyone know if they can be bought new, already from the factory in this color?
  6. I'm interested in painting my GT3 wheels to the color in this pic. Anyone have experience with getting their wheels painted. Any pros/cons, or pics? tia
  7. Loren, I would also know the best way to remove the rear part of the headliner (996 C4S) so I could insert some sound dampening material. I have a custom installed audio system, but the area under the headliner rattles when the bass gets loud. Thanks, Jeff
  8. I haven't tried my Rejex on my windows yet, but I assume it's similar to what Rain-X does......we'll see.
  9. Izzy, I didn't notice that the car looks levitated :) The jack happens to be blocked by the post and tires. I bought my Rejex at www.corrosionx.com
  10. Rejex applied to the inside and outside of wheels... Finished result, along with Griot's tire dressing.
  11. I bought some Rejex recently and had a chance to finally use it. Mainly bought it to see if it "works" at keeping brake dust and dirt off of the wheels (or if it washes off easily). Here are a couple pics.....before and after. Rear wheel (the fronts were way worse) Both wheels washed, before Rejex. CONTINUED.....
  12. I think the sideskirts are the same for the narrowbody. I would go for the TechArt sideskirts, but any sideskirts might look weird alone, if nothing is added to the rear bumper to match the width of the sideskirts. Also made by TechArt.
  13. I have 2500 miles on my C4S, and I've had to add about 1 qt so far. I believe this is a standard issue for the first few thousand miles...
  14. Interesting....I too have been using only Shell V-Power since I got my car, and I'm at 2300 miles. I'm also interested in what others have to say.
  15. Thanks guys, The digital display before adding the oil showed the oil was 1/2 full. I added a half quart. I'll check for the smoke signal, and then check the filter cartridge.
  16. I have accidently added to much oil to the engine. The display showed it was 1/2 full, so I added more, but to much. The indicator shows totally full and not between the lines. I took it out for a drive before I realized this, and the engine smelled of burning...oil? What do I need to do, if anything? Wait till it eventually goes down, or do I need to extract some oil somehow? Thanks....
  17. As I stated before, my cost was $600...down from $699, but, with this price I got the bumper done, the side mirrors, both fenders, door edges, and rockers. Depending on where you live, you may have a choice of installers whith decent prices. The place I had mine done, just did a CGT, and put it on almost every surface....it looked amazing.
  18. They actually might be... Contact NavyDoc on this forum. You can find them in the GT3 forum now. Contact him and he may be able to help you out. If he can't due to the fact that it's now the dealers car, let me know, as they have my number if they become available...
  19. I put the 3M Clearguard on my new C4S and it turned out fantastic. You can see a line across the hood, but it is only visible when very close up. Here is a pic of my car...you can't see any lines. I paid $600 for mine. It was originally $699, but I knew someone who knew someone, and they tinted my windows at a discount too. So, $600 is average. I wouldn't think it's a DIY project though. Have a pro do it who's done many before....just my $.02
  20. If I decide to replace my previously flat tire with 2 new tires in the rear, can they be different from the front. I have Pilot Sports all around, but can I replace the rears with Pilot Sport 2's, and leave the fronts just Pilot Sports? Thanks.
  21. dj - some highways have wide open long stretches where I can get up to 140 for a short time, but I don't do that in traffic or bad weather conditions. 80mph isn't really reckless, but I know what your saying...
  22. Thanks, yeah, I'm aware of the "model nd transmission" specifics, and I thought 10000 miles was alot. I plan to buy a new set, esp since the car is new....but I thought I would ask anyway :D
  23. Thanks...I'm not familiar with NTB....Discount guys were cool, did it for free. My main concern is high speed driving. There are often times when I drive where speeds are between 80 and 140mph....
