  1. Hi I've just been checking over my roof as its become a bit slow/noisy opening and closing. Read though all the posts here and checked the cables etc and everything looks fine. I seem to have the newer cables with the re-inforced housing but also have the older red plastic balljoints. Nothing was broken and I checked the length of inner cable that was inside the motor and again plenty there. But I seem to have a problem with the clamshell cover being slightly offset to one side, which causes a slight problem when closing, leaving one side very slightly high and requires a gentle push to help it go flush. The offset is approx 2 - 3 mm and doesn't foul anything, it just causes the locating 'pegs' to bind slightly. I've tried gently 'persuading' the lid to no avail. I can't see anything that could be adjusted. Any body have any suggestions ? PS I'm sure this has only happened since the last service, when I also noticed a slight squeaking from the rear parcel shelf when driving. MY 2000 2.7 Speed Yellow UK
