  1. Recently my CEL light came on, and I didn't worry much about it because it went off shortly after. But then came on again, and went off again, so I was pretty sure it was probably some small sensor issue like an O2 sensor. I didn't do anything about it for a while because I only really dive the vehicle a few blocks to work and maybe the occasional drive other than that. So then it came on and didn't go back off, but in waiting for it to go back off, at a few stop lights it started blinking, I knew what that meant and started to worry. It has also started giving clouds of white smoke on start much too often. I took it to get the engine codes and here is what it came up with. I don't have a Porsche dealership within hundreds of miles of me and so I mostly DIY everything on it. I am probably going to replace the AOS, and change the oil at the same time soon. Although I was wondering if anyone could help me pinpoint the problems better. Here is the list that the OBD II readout gave: P1121 - Oxygen Sensor Heating 2 Behind Catalytic Converter – Below Lower Threshold P0440 - Fuel Tank Ventilation System - Above Limit P0160 - Oxygen Sensor After Catalytic Converter (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Interruption of Signal P0150 - Oxygen Sensor Ahead of Catalytic Converter (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Intercore Short Circuit or Limited P1126 - Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Rich Threshold P1124 - Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 1 - 3) - Rich Threshold P0300 - Misfire Damaging to Catalytic Converter P0306 - Misfire, Cylinder 6, Damaging to Catalytic Converter P0304 - Misfire, Cylinder 4, Damaging to Catalytic Converter P0305 - Misfire, Cylinder 5, Damaging to Catalytic Converter P1319 - Misfire, Emission Relevant P1318 - Misfire, Cylinder 6, Emission Relevant P1316 - Misfire, Cylinder 4, Emission Relevant
  2. Going to have some work done that may involve disconnecting the battery, I think it maybe a good idea to have it just in case. My serial number is WSO18669, thank you ahead of time. Oh, and it's a Becker CDR-210.
  3. Ah, found it at http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...st&p=118651 although I don't have time to try it tonight, I will try it tomorrow when I get out of work, and I'll post my results.
  4. Okay, so since I have bought my 986 (about 4 months ago) I have been unable to use the heated seats on the drivers side. The passenger side works perfectly, in both high and low. However, when I press the driver side heated seat button, the LED flashes red for a fraction of a second, and then goes off, regardless of how long or short I press it. I checked the fuses related to it, but they were all fine. Has anyone heard of this problem before? Or can anyone tell me where to start as far as fixing it is concerned?
  5. I just removed the horn when I got home from work today, used a 9V, trying both polarities, and it makes a faint click, but no chirp. So I would assume that it is just a faulty horn (which makes sense considering the horn looks quite weathered.) Now I just need to order a new one, would anyone by chance remember/know what the part number is?
  6. Okay, I just recently bought a 986 (my first porsche, and love it) but I have noticed that the alarm cannot chirp. :( I have the red clip, and have used it to keep the alarm armed and then set it off by waving my hands in front of the sensors, the lights all flash, but no sound (other than a clicking, which I am not sure if it is a relay for the lights or the alarm horn, or possibly something else.) I also have tried getting it to chirp by trying to lock the car with stuff open, which should cause it to chirp once, but I only recieve a single click and lights flash. I know where the alarm horn is located, but am not sure how to go about finding out what exactly maybe the problem. Is there a valet mode that maybe enabled, keeping it silent? Or is there something else I should check. When I get a chance I will take a multimeter to the alarm horn while it is supposed to be chirping, but any other suggestions would be great.
