  1. Yeah you're right. I have set aside some money for that. I'm also going to try and see if I can get an extended warranty. I just have some money invested a new business thats why the budget for the car dropped I might might postpone the entire thing if a deal doesnt end up working out till I can cough up more $ for an 02+
  2. How much does a PPI run roughly? $ Cefalu, the vin number for that vehicle is WP0AA2998XS627123 (he didn't post it on the ad, but emailed it to me). Also, based on your guys advice on seeing something w/o the aero kit (even though it looks SO good with it ) I saw this one, http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?listingId=39663094&CMP=PrivatePartySIY (WAY LOWER MILES.. looks pretty good, what do you think?)
  3. Hey everyone, so far it looks like I'm going for this one, http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?listingId=39292533&aff=national&CMP=usedInv VIN: WP0AA2998XS627123 (if Cefalu or someone can maybe do a quick check for me ) Does everyone approve? He sent me detailed pictures, looks pretty clean... Also so its a C4 so i see a little more value in it then a C2? Thanks!
  4. Thanks Cefalu for the heads up! lol goes to show how true the saying "if something sounds too good to be true it usually is.." is. do you have an unlimited carfax option? think if i PMed you a few VINs of the vehicles im looking at, u can tell me a little about them? (including my current boxster :D) thanks again everyone... im really thinking about the black one for 19,750$ really like the way it looks.. :S
  5. Hi everyone. I'm looking to purchase a 911, and the sadly the budget isn't huge! I've been looking for a good deal for a while, but I think its best if I let you guys check it out and maybe even give me some advice.. http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?tracktype=usedcc&csDlId=&csDgId=&listingId=38509212&listingRecNum=0&criteria=sf1Dir%3DASC%26mkId%3D20081%26stkTyp%3DU%26mdId%3D20567%26rd%3D100000%26mlgId%3D28863%26crSrtFlds%3DstkTypId-feedSegId-mkId-mdId-yrId-mlgId%26zc%3D08873%26rn%3D0%26PMmt%3D1-1-0%26stkTypId%3D28881%26sf1Nm%3Dprice%26yrId%3D20197%26yrId%3D20141%26yrId%3D20196%26rpp%3D50%26feedSegId%3D28705&aff=national I spoke with these guys, they can do 13,500$ for this car... what do you guys think? I can go up to $19,500 for a really nice low mileage 99-02 ( I really love the 02, but can i find one in that price range?) What do you guys say? Also there is this one, http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?tracktype=usedcc&csDlId=&csDgId=&listingId=39046953&listingRecNum=6&criteria=prMx%3D24000%26sf1Dir%3DDESC%26prMn%3D0%26mkId%3D20081%26stkTyp%3DU%26mdId%3D20567%26rd%3D100000%26crSrtFlds%3DstkTypId-feedSegId-mkId-mdId-pseudoPrice-yrId%26zc%3D08873%26rn%3D0%26PMmt%3D1-1-0%26stkTypId%3D28881%26sf2Dir%3DASC%26sf1Nm%3Dprice%26yrId%3D20142%26yrId%3D20197%26yrId%3D20141%26yrId%3D20196%26sf2Nm%3Dmiles%26rpp%3D50%26feedSegId%3D28705&aff=national Ive talked to a salesman he said he can do 19,750$, what do you guys think? Are the miles too high for that car and for that price? Thanks everyone! P.S. If you know someone selling a 911 in good condition in my price range, definitely let me know!
  6. I don't feel that it pulls to one side and I didnt notice any vibrations when braking hard. I just had the rotors and brakes changed less then 200kms ago! I hope they're not warped! Ill check the lugs in the morning ! Hoepfully its just that! lol I haven't ridden in the passenger seat, no one else in my family knows how to drive manual :drive: My biggest concern with going to the dealership for diagnostic is, its 125$ to diagnose but if u get the work done there they'll adjust the diagnostic fee (i would get the work done there but not right away in the same trip because I'd order the parts form pelican parts (considering its much cheaper then the dealer) and just have the dealer replace my part) I'll try to record a video and see if i can catch the sound in the camera to show it to you guys. Also the sound seems to be louder with the roof up (but i think that might be a different sound from the roof, an issue i've seen discussed on the forum). I'm still thinking its the bearings based on the sound...
  7. lol aha just checked, no umpa lumpa stuck should i book an appointment at the dealer to diagnose the issue then? also how could i chck the drive shaft joints? (im sorry im not very technical) Thanks!
  8. I lifted the car on a jack today so the tire was about 2 inches off the ground and tried to see if the tire would move following the given instructions but the tire was very sturdy and didn't have any movement at all.. so I'm guessing it isn't the wheel bearing? What do you guys think? What else could it be? Thanks, Hammad
  9. 17 - 98 boxster 19 now and hoping to trade for a 996
  10. Thanks! I searched up the noise on youtube after your reply and I think it might be just that! What's the best way to check? (Other then mechanic) Also, I was searching pelican parts, and they seem to only have the "FRONT" ones? Are these the same for the rear? Also, it says change in sets? Does it mean Front/Back, or Left/Right? More details on doing this yourself will be greatly appreciated! http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/smart/more_info.cgi?pn=999-053-041-03-M34&catalog_description=Wheel%20Bearing%2C%20Boxster%20Front%2FRear%20%28%31%39%39%37%2D%30%34%29%20Boxster%20S%20Front%20only%20%28%32%30%30%30%2D%30%34%29%20 Thanks a ton again!
  11. Hi Everyone, I'm not a 100% sure how I can explain this, its one of those you have to hear to really know what I'm talking about; but most of you over here are very knowledgeable and have helped me in the past so hopefully I can get some sort of an idea on whats going on.. I have a 98 Boxster w/ about 48k miles When I drive the car theres this noise that comes, kind of sounds like "wobble/wobble/wobble" seems to be coming from the rear right hand side of the car. It doesnt seem to be dependent on RPMS even on the highway if I put the car in neutral the sound doesn't change. The faster I go, the gap between the "wobble-wobble" gets shorter and shorter. It happens in every gear. What do you think it can be? Thanks in advance!
  12. I think its mostly water, but it has a slight green tint to it as well. As if a lot of water was getting mixed with a little bit of coolant.. I have also realized, more water builds in when i drive the car in rain. I am pretty certain the water isnt coming from the top and that its coming from the bottom. As none of the sides get wet, just the bottom. the sides stay dry!
  13. Hey Maurice, I topped up the coolant, it was above the minimum mark, but very slightly. I topped it up till the Max. You were right, the light has not come on since. I will try and do what you mentioned as well, will let you know how that goes! (yn) Is there a guide on how to carry out that process (removing all the pieces, covers and etc) I can get the carpet out fairly easily. I just dont want to mess anything else up. Thanks, Hammad
  14. Thanks, Ill go buy the 5mm socket from the local hardware store so I can change the bulb. also, I checked the coolant expansion tank at the back, took out the carpet and checked for any leaks (liquid on the ground). It was bone dry! Nothing, no residue. The tank however was filled just above the minimum mark, so I topped it up (to the max)! Hopefully that'll make the light go away. But is there sometihng else that I should look for, the leak, the liquid is getting in the front of the car. The hood thats the trunk lol. The back trunk has never given me any trouble like that! All the water in the front makes my front trunk useless, plus Im afraid it will cause rust over time. I really wanna fix that problem asap!
  15. Hi everyone! I've been reading around Renntech, seems like the best porsche forum around, so hopefully someone here will be able to help me out! Water (and im guessing maybe a bit of coolant, because it has a slight greenish colour to it) keeps building up in my trunk (front one)! I havent noticed anywater inside the car cabin (footwell/under the seats, etc) Recently, the redlight at the end of the temp. guage has started flasing occasionally.. Usually when the car is cold.. However, my engine does not seem to be overheating, it stays roughly around or slightly above the 80 mark, after driving for an hour or so on the highway. What should I look for/do? The cars a 98' Boxster. P.S. I need to change the one of the headlight bulbs, but I am missing the tool (hex key/screwdriver) that is needed to pop the unit out, where can I find out, and about how much would it cost? (Bought the car last summer, just realized I'm missing that tool) Any help will be really appreciated! Thanks, Hammad
