  1. Thanks for the info, i called Century who said they dont sell contracts directly. Gave me the number of an Audi and VW dealer in my area who they sell to. I would have to go to their dealers if i want them to pay the shop directly. Otherwise if I go to another shop, I would pay out of pocket and they reimburse me. Im going to call my local Porsche dealer and see what they do for extended warranty.
  2. Actually I was wondering the same thing. I found a few in a search but have no idea if they are legit or bad companies. Most companys wont even warranty Porsches and some will not insure 911s. I found these which say they will. No idea if they are for real tho. Hoping someone else had purchased an extended warranty that used it. All this talk about engine failures got me a little worried and I rather be insured. http://www.autowarrantybroker.com/ http://www.autoprotection.com/warranties/Porsche/
  3. This is not something that came with your car, but sounds interesting. Sounds like the previous owner bought a Homelink module and managed to install it in the overhead console. Could you post a photo? I'm sure those on this forum would be interested. It did look funny to have a module stick out like that up there. I havent tried to reprogram it yet since its been snowing all weekend. i snapped a shot for you guys.
  4. yea its exactly what its like.. rolling over small bumps. It just skips at the lock of turn left or right. I would think its the AWD doing it too if only mine was AWD! Very strange... I try not to turn the wheel all the way too. Wonder if anyone ever got a tech to look at this to figure out what the cause.
  5. Thanks for the link! I will give it a shot over the weekend.
  6. My 996 C2 has a strange problem when the steering wheel is turned fully till it locks either left or right. When the car is not moving, the wheel will hit the end of the rotation and all seems fine. However when you start to move forward or reverse, the steering wheel / tire starts to skip. Like the steering wheel + tires skips back, then it tries to catch itself back to the original position. Im very scared to turn the steering wheel fully when i make turns because it seems like Im hurting something. Has anyone experienced this before? any ideas?
  7. I just picked up a 2002 996 C2 which so far has been an amazing car! Im confused about the garage door opener.. or what I believe is the garage door opener. Its a module mounted behind the sunroof switch with 3 buttons and a LED. I tried to hold down the buttons in various patterns along with my garage door opener in hopes of programming it... but so far nothing has worked. Can anyone shed some light on this? On my BMWs, Ive always held the outside 2 buttons till the LED blinked, then pressed the one i want to program along with the original remote next to it to pair. Thanks!
