  1. Hi GreigM, was looking at the same thing, where did you purchase yours from and in the end and will the VW group ones fit?
  2. Hi, Trying to get to the bottom of my Check Engine Light problem and am looking for a OBD2 reader, which one of these do I need, any advice, am based in UK so cannot purchase the one recommended in the reviews section. Thanks for any help: This one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Scanner-Reader-OBD2-...1QQcmdZViewItem or this one with new CAN protocol: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CAN-OBDII-OBD2-Troub...1QQcmdZViewItem Dan
  3. Hi, Have a boxster 2.5 1999 and recently had a dead battery. I did try to start it quite a few times and wonder whether have made things worse. Got a new battery installed but now the CEL check engine light has come on and above 3000rpm there is a hesitation and loss off power. Could I have flooded something with my zealous engine starting on flat battery. I've read MAF sensor may be problem, any ideas if this is the case where it is located and what I need to clean it with. Any help appreciated. Many thanks. Dan
  4. Hardtop needs to be adjusted to each vehicle. Might be worth giving this a try. If you look above the spinlocks where the hardtop is there is a triangular covering which if removed reveals 5 hex bolts. These can be adjusted to help with fitting. Good luck.
  5. munro, have similiar problem, think its either the tilt sensor or the internal motion sensor which is likely to be playing up, either way would prob need a visit to OPC or specialist. Is fuse, Row C Pos 3 used to disable the alarm and would this work for a boxster? Many thanks.
  6. Hello, For some reason I realised that the clock/oil level indicator on start up is missing fromt he right hand corner of the instrument cluster? Is this related to a bulb I can change or not that simple? Any advice appreciated! Many thanks.
  7. Hi, Was driving the boxster and thought I overrevved the engine when the rev needle went over past 8000rpm! Looks like the gauge got stuck at some point and started jamming as with engine off the revs was at 4000rpm! I've taken the gauges apart and had a look at them, looks like they may have been catching on the dials? Removed and refitted with touch of glue, but on start up the rev gauge still "stutters" and jumps, but does stay at 0rpm when engine is off. Any ideas why the rev needle stutters at start up? Do I need new instrument panel and if I do is it a straight swap or will this mess up the odometer mileage of car. Any help appreciated. Dan Pic enclosed
  8. Thanks Toolpants, just missed them on ebay or would have tried to fit them. Will keep a look out for them. Thanks again!
  9. Hi, I wish to change my dials on my 1999 boxster 2.5 to white. Would anyone be able to tell me if white dials from a 2000 boxter 2.7 will fit straight in? I know there was a change in the digital speedo, mine is in the middle under the revs, is the 2000 modle different. Many thanks. Dan
  10. Thanks ToolPants your a star. Files recieved. Cheers. Dan
  11. Thanks Toolpants, am trying to change the current 4 speaker amp to the 6 channel amp and connect some rear speakers. Looks like I'll need a pin extractor and plug in the new pins as suggested. But I need the wiring diagram for the amp to see where to connect the front and rear speakers. Do you still have the wiring diagram: Quote: "I looked at the amp wiring diagrams for a 2000 Boxster and a 996 and they look the same to me for the pins. I scanned them so send me a direct email as you cannot do attachments with PM. There are 20 pins on each amp but not all the pins are used and/or work." Your help is much appreciated. Dan
  12. Got the radio code sorted. :D Anyone has copy of the wiring diagram for the M490 Amplifier? Thanks.
  13. Hi, Any help appreicated, have some time on my hands this week so some DIY is in hand: 1. Just took out the CDR 22 (CDR220) radio and unplugged the power supply. When I plug in power supply it goes straight to wait and dose not ask for code? Do I just wait for an hour and does the radio need to be left on for this? 2. On looking at the back of the radio, the yellow wire which is plugged into socket C1- postiion 1 = Line out rear left seems to have been cut? Any thoughts why this would be and do I need to rewire it? 2. I finally got hold of the 6 speaker amplifier from a 996 M490 amp. Anyone any wiring diagrams for this amplifier, I know from other posts the socket to the current amplifier needs to be rewired. Your help is much appreciated if anyone can shed any light on the above questions. Dan
  14. Thanks Tool Pants, its good to see a friendly face here too. Here is a pic of both of them, I guess if I purchased the bose rear shelf from design911.co.uk the second amp should piggy back on to the exisitng amp with some additional wiring? That sounds too straight forward to be true though :(
  15. Hi, Just visiting from the boxa board. Does anyone know what these part numbers for a bose amp are and will they fit or make any difference on the 1999 boxster with 6 speaker sound package with amp? 996.645.333.03 and 986.645.338.00 It doesn't show up on my parts CD, and I think its something to do with bose upgrades. Maybe the first one latches on to the existing amp for the rear speakers? Any help appreciated. Many thanks. Dan
