  1. Hi All, I got in my car for a drive from Leics to Heathrow to pick up the enemy. Within a few minutes the red light at the top of the water temp guage started to flash and a warning 'indicator failure' refering to the water temp guage. At first i was quite worried and pulled over a few times to check the water but everything okay. During the journey this happened quite a few times (about 20 times on this 300 mile journey), it would be okay and show the temp, then it would fail giving the warning and slow flashing light. When working the temp reached just over 60 which usually sits at just over 80, indicating 20 less than 'normal'. As this was reflecting cooler water temp i hoped it would not be an issue. Better cool than hot! On the way back from Heathrow the temp guage decided to work for the whole journey but still sat at just over 60. Summary: It would work normally but temp would sit at just over 60 degrees, then it would fail, bleep once, state water temp indicator failure and the red light flashes slowly. After some time it would decide to work but again back to the begining as it would report water temp of just over 60 degrees etc etc. The car drove perfectly but this happened many times during my 300 mile journey on the same day. Can anyone help?? It is a 2002 996 Facelift Tiptronic C2. Thanks
  2. Hi All, I need help on a couple of things. I am thinking of upgrading my car or selling it for another one. 996 3.6 2002 Facelift. Any advice on how / where to sell would be great. I need some important options: Sat Nav and auto dimming mirrors. I love my car and have had it for nearly 4 years, it has carbon fibre tiptronic steering wheel, gear, handbrake, rear centre console, ignition switch & emergency switch. I really do love these and gives the steering wheel a great feel. If i sell i will buy second hand so will not get these but will get multi function steering, Bose, PCM and auto dimming mirrors. If i upgrade can i retro fit auto dimming mirrors? What is required and how much? As much advice as possible please. I will reluctantly fit a double din DVD/sat nav rather than PCM as for that year it is dated, with much better functions on new units. Any advice on which units are good. I currently have tape head unit and cd multichanger in boot. Can i easily take out old head unit and fit say a kenwood double din easily myself? I would also like advice on speaker upgrades and possibly a subwoofer which i believe can be fitted in the passenger footwell. I know a company that can install professionally. Not the cheapest but they know what they are doing. Merry Christmas And a Happy New Year to all.
