  1. Hello, Just swapped my exhaust for a lovely Fister D exhaust on my 99 C2 79K miles. Darin was a great help, no hassles with the shipment, even explained the location of the bolts etc. All in all removal and installation was about 3 hours, well worth the time. It has nice sound under mild and aggresive acceleration, as soon as you come of the power or are cruising there is absolutely no drone. Well worthe money. Darren
  2. I've tried searching for the RMS DIY with no luck. Does anybody have the link. Thanks in advance, Darren
  3. I have the same issue, hill or no hill. I also experience it at lows revs in second gear, when i have to slow for a light and then it changes. I think it is more prone to the noise when it is cold, but i'm sure i've heard it at temperature as well. As for recent work on the car, i've replaced the waterpump about 5k ago, and that actually imporved idle and gear changes. I've also changed the air filter and oil recently and was starting to wonder if the airbox is not sitting correct or a screw could be loose. Other than the bite point eing quite high, i have no other issues with changing gear. Darren 99 C2 Manaual 72k
  4. Getting ready to do an oil change. Should i wait for a porsche Oil Filter to get delivered or go to AutoZone and buy a filter such as Champ, FRAM or STP that fits? thanks for the advice. Darren
  5. +1 Suncoast. Installed Drivers side 3 months ago, no problems to date. Darren
  6. Just the replaced the waterpump and wanted to share my experience with the group. I've had my suspicions in the hot weather lately that something is not right and that i was getting an occaisional squeal. My independent confirmed that the bearing was loose. So using all the DIY's etc and reading other comments, probably took me 4 hours, the only problem was getting to the one awkward bolt and getting the pump out of the small gap. The bearing was only noticeably loose, but parts of the plastic fins had broken off. First thing i noticed is that the engine/clutch seemed very smooth, i was no longer getting a clanking noise when changing gear or pulling off( which i had prviously put down to the clutch, and was matching the revs when changing gear). I have had this since buying the car at 60K, i now have 67K. So i will speculate that the pump was somehow siezing/slowing and dragging on the belt as i was pulling off, or changing gear. All in all i'm very happy with the new waterpump and unexpected results! Darren 99 C2 Coupe 67K
  7. Thanks - this is exactly what i was looking for. I will check them out and share my experience with you.
  8. Thanks for the reply - i would be looking for an aftermarket warranty. Are there any recommended companies for a car this age. Thanks.
  9. Hello all! This is my first post, i have found the forum extremely useful regarding the purchase of a used 99-03 911. My question - is there a warranty provided in California that will cover a catastrophic failure of a 99 911 C2 coupe, the car has approx $60,000 miles and i have had it inspected. I can deal with the every day stuff, but a new engine would leave me eating cheerios for a few months. Thanks.
