  1. Problem solved --- found loose connector "Black" at back of cluster.
  2. With Durametric I get code 0650 -- 165 open circuit. Fuses check out good disconnected battery for full ten minutes and cycled ignition switch. I also disconnected an O2 sensor to throw a cell ... ran for couple of minutes and did not see CEL. I assume that the BLK male connector on the cluster turns the CEL light on however what is the easiest way to check for an Open? 1. From blk male Connector going to cluster ... which "wire color" if known is easiest to check back to the computer to check continuity or voltage. PS I did check this thread.
  3. 2000-996 C2 manual .....Failed emissions first time when tripped cel because of secondary pump replaced and cleared cel, so went back for retest and it failed because NO cel with ignition key turned on! Funny thing I don't remember if it was ever on in that condition. Anyway checked bulb "Ok" removed battery cable for couple of minutes and still NO cel with ignition to on position. I have not checked with my durametric for codes for this problem, but anyone have any ideas on things to look for.
  4. I have a seized Secondary Air Pump on my 2000 996 and was wondering if one from a Boxster would have the same PN# and/or maybe substituted I cannot read my part number on mine. Also which wire is the power BRN or Red/Black going to the pump.
  5. I have saved quite a bit of money using this site easily justifying contributing, good work to everyone and Loren.
  6. Very interesting setup however would add a speaker cover to the subs
  7. A little hard to tell it sounds more eng internal (lifters etc) then cats. Do you have a CEL light or try hitting cats with rubber mallet with eng off to see? If you could take it in for second option I would.
  8. Even with battery charger it will drain fast if alternator is not working properly.
  9. Try hitting the cat with your hand or rubber mallet to see if you can isolate the noise with engine off, sometimes can be just loose bracket.
  10. Running without cats makes it a little tough to pass emissions isn't it?
  11. Have a set F/S in storage from a 3.4 Ltr which fit also..pm me if needed
  12. Thanks for the heads up and ended up with a good used one, I had to be up and running the next day and did not have time to look into it more, however the used one was abit more so had get a cheaper home. Still works great after 700 + miles.
  13. Thanks so I am good to go if I can find just need a qwik fix for now. Tried one from checker today and at last minute tried to spin it and it would not even spin...however it did bolt up!
  14. I am looking for an "Alternator" not Starter just want to make sure we are on the same page.
  15. Porsche dealers sell the rebuilt starter or alternator for that price? Trouble is I need a alternator by tomorrow morning and will have to go with a used one if I can get.
  16. I was wondering on a 2000 996 carrera 6spd if any boxster alternators would work.? Or are the different numbers?
  17. Yes, the same part number is used on the (rear) of the following cars. Thanks Loren
  18. Right rear speed sensor failed and was wondering for a 2000 996 6/spd carrera what year boxsters if any had same PN# I can use.
  19. RUF wing and decklid can be adjusted for downforce by using angle of attack on the wing, but not height.
