  1.

Guys...I was thinking to buy a roof transport system together with the OEM bicycle carrier.

Having a look around, it looks like the OEM cross braces will not fit on my cayenne as I allready have the rails installed?

    80-undefined_6e1f26bd958788baf17a0c60a2d

So my question is, will these cross braces fit a cayenne which has the stock roof rails installed?

As I understand they are mounted like this:

    80-95504400072lr_cd6b349af5e49ab90290805

And my cayenne which has the roof rails would need cross braces like this:

    80-95504400035lr_d0b993550d19ad5c8a636ef

    Any thoughts?

The Transport System [1st pic] goes straight to the roof of the Cayenne and is not compatible with the long roof railings [2nd pic]. My cayenne didn't have any, so I figured that my best choice was the Transport... Your bicycle railing [3rd pic] is an exclusive fit for the long railing and as you can see is like the Transport system which goes side to side...

    Finally SOLVED!

It was the GPS Antenna! I replaced the unit in the Rear Lid Spoiler, but nothing! So I proceed to apply the 1-4-8 code and VOILA!  :jump:    It worked!!!

    attachicon.gif01.jpg

So I guess that if you have NO Satellites and applied code 1-4-8 and still no Sats after check connections, then you got a bad GPS Antenna unit.

Finally if you install a new GPS antenna, then apply code 1-4-8 on the PCM unit to reset and PCM to recognize new GPS Antenna. Here are today's picture with finally NAVI Unit fully working. I still got the warning triangles on the SW versions, but at least I can use the NAVI now!

Good to know - thank you.  Can you provide the part number for the antenna and the cost please

    Thanks, Simon

Ok Simon, here all go: :jump:

Pictured below is the GPS OEM antenna...

Here's the Volkswagen Part Number [7L5 035 507 A] as seen on the GPS metal base sticker....

Here's the Porsche Part Number [955.647.107.01 or 955 647 107 01] as seen on the box from manufacturer....

I wrote down the numbers because Images, sometimes, are not displayed... I bought this item at www.ecstuning.com for around $79.00 [not including Shipping & Handling]

Hope this helps better to everyone in the future...

  3. Hi,

I am Maarten from Amsterdam, NL. I drive a 2003 Cayenne turbo that has a faulty air suspension. I had the yellow "airsuspension faulty" message a couple of times over the last two years but now the car "lies on the floor" with a red airsuspension warning.

Compressor is not running, when I connect the spare tire hose: no pressure either. When I bench-test the compressor directly  it runs fine. At that point I decided I need a diagnostics computer and bought a Durametric kit.

I get the following error messages from the Level Control module:

2250 (valve operating time exceeded, upper limit value exceeded)

    1575 (manual control switched of)

778  (steering angle sensor, No signal/communication)

[Cornering lights do not work either]

1487 (System function test faulty, Implausible signal)

1772 (Signal lead for pressure sensor, Implausible signal)

When I try to read the actual values, I see things like compressor temperature and Compressor relay (off). I also read "System Status Number Control Mode" which reads 4010. "Deviation from normal level" and "absolute vehicle heights" also show plausible numbers.

    Battery is in good shape.

When I scroll further down, there are many signals that do not show any values and that seems strange to me: "Accumulator pressure", "Terminal 15" all stay blank. Maybe these are simply not supported by Durametric?

Any tips? Where is the pressure sensor located (related to 1772)?

Can I start the compressor manually to fill the system? I know the Porsche tester can fill/bleed the Level Control System

    Thanks in advance,

    Maarten

This is an old post, but I recently had a similar issue.

With Durametric you will go to the coding tab for the Level Function and calibrate... The sensor which does not accept your coding is the sensor which is bad....

  4. OK, so I replaced the glass on the drivers door mirror (right hand drive car - 04 Cayenne v6). Now, when selecting to adjust the right mirror, both mirrors move. If selecting to adjust the left one, only the left one moves. What's going on. I did disconnect the two mirrors to the heating element and reconnected them after sticking the new glass on.

    Any help please??

UPDATE: oops, didn't realise there was a 'sync' function in the menu settings ;-)

    Good!

    Mark it as solved!!!

  6. Yes, Loren. I checked that several times and nothing at all... Step by Step....

Same behavior when the passenger door is opened?

Yes I checked pass door and same behavior....

Do with a PIWIS a "Car Handover" the control box is probably lost his memory, this occurs more and solved within a minute.

I guess PIWIS then is the only solution... I spent like $600.00 on eBay for the Durametric... It's beginning to be considered to be re-sell :-(

  7. Hello... Again...

My PCM 2.1 on my 2005 Cayenne Turbo has on the information display, no satellites [Please check pic].

    post-41858-0-47076800-1430347267_thumb.j

Firmware for both PCM and Navi DVD unit were upgraded, but no satellites. I checked it with the Durametric Pro but doesn't seems to fix the issue. Also I checked the connections from the antenna on the rear spoiler through the NAVI unit and it seems ok. I opened the GPS antenna and cleaned contacts overall, but still the same zero satellites results...

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

  8. Hello!

My PCM 2.1 on my 2005 Cayenne Turbo has exclamation warning symbols as if there is an error [Please check pic].

    post-41858-0-74346800-1430346602_thumb.j

Firmware for both PCM and Navi DVD unit were upgraded, but still the error remains.

I checked it with the Durametric Pro but doesn't seems to fix the issue. Any ideas? And if the old "take-it-to-the-dealer" "Use PIWIS" suggestion or advice can be avoided much better...

    Thanks!!!

  9. I agree that what you did works BUT it's like one of those hillbilly "I fix'd it!" repairs. If I paid someone to fix my car and they did it that I'd be apoplectic and incandescent!

Removing the "strut" (coilover in UK) first is the proper way to do this. The TRW (OE maker) upper arms are £50/$80'ish, fit perfectly and you almost certainly won't need an alignment afterwards, especially if you use a Sharpie to outline the coilover retaining bolts and centre them back during refitting.

Let me clarify you something in case that you can't understand simple and plain English. I work and do things for myself and like I said and let me quote myself because you can't read, I said: "But according to most Porsche Mechanics, the struts needs to be removed. I did mine without removing it, but many people will not agree with what I did...". Also like I said the SUV is mine and I do as I'm pleased. It's not Hillbilly. I like to simplify my tasks. That's what an Engineer do. Straight to the point, the smart and easiest way. If you don't like it, I simply don't care :censored:. I posted what I did just to let people know that there's a lot of ways to perform a job...

Everybody wants to take it to a Porsche dealer, fine. Everyone has the right to decide what's best for their own interest....

I hope Ciaka, could share his experience and many others here like I did. Providing real alternatives and solutions. The world need people to share ideas, not people to suppress them...

  10. Sorry for not replying earlier... But according to most Porsche Mechanics, the struts needs to be removed. I did mine without removing it, but many people will not agree with what I did... :lightbulb: I made perforations straight to the bolts through the fender. I had to remove the air filters to do that... But again... I did it because I love to do things by myself... The Cayenne is mine   and I decided to made the holes through the fender... In a future if I have to replace them again, will be a truly piece of cake to do so...

  11. Well as I've seen through forums people explain a lot, but no visual aid...

I had same issues like you, but they got worse.

I took my Cayenne Turbo to PepBoys and they replaced the bushings on the lower arm marked in red [17, 18]. These were completely broken. Also inspect the front bushing marked in green [19]. Noise gone, but couple of months later faint noise was noticed and replace the whole upper arms [both sides] marked with the big green circle...

    post-41858-0-89950800-1429509320_thumb.j

Begin with those items, due to low costs [bushings I recall were like $15.00 each. Upper arms were like $50.00 each]... I don't want to scare you, but don't let this issue for a long time unattended. Due to this simple issue, later on, the passenger's strut was internally broken. It cost me $1,600.00 each strut plus $400.00 in mechanical labor...

Hope this could help you a bit better...

Whatever happen, please reply so other members in the future could read the final result / conclusion... Just a suggestion...

    Good luck!

  12. I'll check for continuity, but still that's a heavy gauge cable... So it's very difficult to be broken since that are was not touch at all... I also checked BROWN cable of the regulator against ground and nothing... Weird thing is that BROWN cable against GROUND had continuity... Also, from the diagrams, I noticed that pin #B2, fan control I guess is the blue colored regulator, is the voltage feedback... Wild case could say that the regulator is fried and no voltage feedback could be received by the Durametric... I guess, by a 75%, regulator is fried...

Also noticed that the area surrounding the regulator, a.k.a. the whole enchilada [condenser, filter, etc.], was very, very cold so it's frozen the AC internally...

Bigbuzuki, still thanks! I noticed that this post have been a one-on-one troubleshooting guide :jump:

  13. Tested... Thanks Bigbuzuki for your fast response!

Red/Yellow cable against chassis = 0.00v; Black cable continuity test to chassis = No continuity; Passenger Foot well light 12v against blower black cable 10.47 volts. Those 10.47v seems almost the same coming from fuse  57 which was 10.38v give or take... So regulator delivers the power to the fuse 57 and the fuse 57 to the fan blower?
