I've developed a slight squeak/pop in the rear passenger suspension...happens over speed bumps and sometimes when turning. I had an A6 and TT previously, and had similar issues on the front suspensions of those...usually a bad control arm or sway bar link. I have always let the dealer figure it out. But how would I go about figuring out the issue on my Boxster (2005 base model)? The control arms are quite expensive so I would want to make sure I replace the right part. I can probably disconnect the sway bar link from the sway bar and then drive over some speed bumps to determine if that link is the issue, right? Obviously, I'd have less stability in the rear with the sway bar disconnected, but if just rolling over speed bumps I should be OK? If the noise is still there, what next? There are two control arms attached to the hub, one from in front of the wheel well and the other from the engine. I tried a visual and pulling on them with my hands but nothing jumped out at me. BTW...I have also considered lack of grease on the sway bar bushings but I had this issue on my TT and the sound is not the same. Although if the sound does go away after disconnecting the sway bar, I will reconsider. Any thoughts?

Try resetting your windows. Push button up to roll up, keep held until window all the way up then hold for additional 5 to 10 seconds. Then push button down to roll down, hold until all the way down and an additional 10 seconds. This trick works in most cars.

You can also click the button twice...once to start the up/down and again to stop it where you want it.

Shifting The 2008 Boxster 5 Speed

Not sure what you mean by not as easy. Have you compared with another 5 speed or do you only have the one to compare with the 6 speed? We'd need more details to help diagnose why it is not "as easy". It could be a linkage adjustment needed on your shifter. Or I believe our clutches are hydraulic and pull from the brake fluid tank (I'm new to my Boxster...had an Audi TT before that operated this way) so if you have old fluid you may not be getting a clean shift. Or you may just need to bleed some fluid from the clutch if these are in fact hydraulic. -

I bet that is going to look quite nice if you do go forward with it. I was just now looking at an NHP version which appears similar in nature from Maxspeed Motorsports...little less $. Please do post some pics once installed. Any plans for your stock S tip?
