  1. I drive a 2002 C4S and replaced the stock suspension with a set of PSS9s, lowering the car. It seems I cannot get the rear wheels in correct toe-in alignment. Several companies offer adjustable toe control arms. Talking about it with my father-in-law, he suggested that it would be "fun" for him to build me a set. Fortunately, he has a sophisticated machine shop which makes parts for drag racing applications. So, does anyone out there have the specifications for the adjustable rear links (dogbones) or adjustable rear toe steer bars for the 996? thanks you can email them to me at rdg061@gmail.com roy
  2. Thanks, Loren and everyone else for your posts. I did rear pads on my 2002 c4s, well, at least one side. i will do the other side next weekend. got real cold in my garage. the hardest part was removing the squeal dampeners, especially from the inside pad. It was hard to see the edges to get a blade underneath them. But, after a while, i was able to get the old ones out. i tried replacing the wear sensor, but i could not remove the wire from the connector behind the shock. So, i used the old one, which seems to be working fine. any suggestions to help remove the old sensor wire. on my 993, the sensor wire was pushed into a socket. here it seems to be held in by a cap of some sort. thanks surfer161
  3. Loren, That was FAST. thanks. probably as fast as replacing it DIY. Roy
  4. each dealer service is different. when i was in chicago, i never got really good service at a dealer. I moved to south Jersey, and I have developed a good relationship with Cherry Hill Porsche. It is almost like working with an independant shop. It may help i also service 2 VWs and and audi there too. i think if you talk respectfully and truthfully with the service manager, you may be surprised. One thing about their HIGH prices is that the work comes with a years P&L guarantee. when they install my parts, i dont get that. Surfer161
  5. you can take it off (from the inside) and have it painted whatever color you want.
  6. 2002 c4s. second owner. I have had the car 2 months. from 64000. now has 68000 (including 550 mi at Watkins Glen). RMS repaired 2007 (appears to have be repaired by engine replacement - not confirmed) at purchase - replaced water tank (leaking), all fluids. need rear brake pads in next month daily driver. great car.
  7. i was just at my local dealer to get a part, and i was SHOCKED to see the price of the 997s there a c4s, list 101k going for 86k a c2s, list 96k going for 83 k others were similarily priced. is this a local, dealer specific phenomenon, or is more generalized. has anyone been to a dealer in the past 2 days to see car prices? roy
  8. 2002 c4s 67500 had for 3 months now. purrfect. best P car i have ever owned.
