  1. This car has disaster written all over it. Unless you have an EXTREMELY competent body shop in Lebanon, do not touch this car unless you want to part it out. You will be stunned at the parts that need to be replaced once an expert looks over the car and that doesn't even address the engine.
  2. It appears I am now cosidering the same issue. Need to replace the PCM1 but have been told that there is no retrofit kit available for this model Porsche at my local stereo shop. Is this true. I don't need anything serious in terms of speaker system but would like a nice touch screen radio with navigation. Edward
  3. Did you ever get this issue resolved? I have a 02 C4 and am having similar problems. NO ONE seems to have info on this unit. Replacement is $5,000 at Porsche. Thanks, Edward
  4. I am having similar problems and am looking or a good repair shop here in the US for a PCM 1 unit. It was manufactured by Siemens and they are very proprietary about the unit, apparently. Found this place in the UK. You might want to try them. mapleaudio.co.uk They appear to have the expertise to help you. Edward
  5. Found this thread...FINALLY. Exactly what my unit is doing. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...mp;#entry108664
  6. How do I get to it? Does the fuse control ONLY the radio or does it control the whole unit? The unit is not dead as the NAV and climate control work. Only the radio is malfunctioning. Will try to research this in the forums. Thanks!
  7. It doesn't say anything except PCM on the door to the cassette player. There is no CDR-xxx anywhere. The booklet states PCM but no other model. Could this be a problem with the PCM and, if so, can it be repaired or does it have to be replaced? I've already spent $400 on the amp. Didn't take it to the dealer because, with radio issues, they ususally only want to replace it with a new and highly priced unit. Any help is appreciated!!
  8. My apologies if this has been posted. Searched and found nothing. I recently turned off my car with the top down in the sun. When I got back in no sound would come from the radio. After playing with the radio, the frequency settings went blank. The navigation still works as does the climate control. After posting this here was told it was probably an amp problem. Replaced amp with NO luck. The radio still powers on but shows no frequency info and no sound will come out. I'm DESPERATE! This is an 02 C4 Cabriolet with Bose and navigation, US model. Any suggestions appreciated!!
  9. I just bought an amplifier from Los Angeles Dismantler. Was stunned to find out how many parts and dimantled Porsches they have. Certain they have your headlamps if you need to replace them. (888) POR-SCHE. I talked to a guy named Leo but I'm sure anyone can help you. Good luck!
