  1. :clapping: So, after some scolding from Eric at Bumper Plugs, I took the car into the dealer this morning to have them recode the system to look for a cd changer in the MOST loop. He was saying that even though the ipod connection was working, I could hear music through the dension unit, it would never activate 100$ until the system was correctly coded by the dealer. Took them 20 minutes. And everything works great now!!!! No more buzzing, the cd player now ejects. I haven't gone through the steps to have hte ipod readout on the pcm show the real titles of songs and artists, but I don't forsee there being a problem now. Will do it after work today. Still have to route all the wires into hte glovebox before the project is 100% complete - when that's done, I'll post pictures and DIY instructions for the whole project.
  2. Did you have both problems? the buzzing sound? Or the test problem?
  3. Hi Guys I installed the Gateway 500 ipod and blutooth kit over the weekend in my 997. Everything seems to be connected correctly, and it read the ipod straight out of the box, no need to have the dealer search for a cd changer in the MOST loop (I only had the Bose amp connected to the fiber loop before - no navigation, no cd changer) Couple issues though: one of them seems really major: 1. MY single cd player in the pcm unit no longer works - when I turn the car on, a high pitched buzzing sound occurs. It goes away when I switch the input to am/fm, or to the cd changer which connects to the ipod gateway device. It also will not allow me to eject the cd that is currently in the pcm unit. Has anyone experience this with a dension install? 2. I followed the user manual directions, but still am unable to get the pcm unit to display the song titles, artist names, album names, etc for the ipod. Can anyone provide more clear directions to get this to work? Thanks!
  4. Thanks everyone for your responses. I installed the dension kit myself today - took a few hours, just to be extra careful - and I'm not sure if it works yet until the dealer plugs their computer diagnostics into it to read a cdc. But, overall, pretty easy DIY job. DEfinately helped my confidence for future jobs I will post full job description and pictures soon!
  5. SVTH Here's a great link showing how to remove center console. Includes great DIY pictures! hope this helps http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/gt3-gt2...tion-guide.html
  6. Hi Everyone!!! My first post here, kinda excited. So, I've owned my 2007 Targa 4S for a little over a year now, and am just now getting motivated to install a much needed ipod integration kit into the car. I just can't take cd's anymore. Any there's no way I would run an fm connection through that great bose system. I purchased a Dension Gateway 500 kit + bluetooth kit from Eric at Bumper Plugs.com, just received it a few days ago. I'm not exactly educated in the realm of electronic installation, etc, but am pretty good at applying myself to DIY projects, and love to learn new things. I'm pretty good at trial by error, even wired my whole house for audio system, but I'm a little afraid of frying something in the car if I do something wrong. I'm so fish out of water on this. Couple of important info items: my auto has Bose, has all wheel drive system (which fills up the space in the front boot/trunk that a C2 would have the cd changer or navigation located), has no cd changer, has no navigation, but it does have the PCM screen in the dash. So I need some help - most of the forums/installation guides/pictures show the installation of the dension unit in the boot. I would like to install this behind the pcm head unit. Can anyone provide 1. Pictures of installing dension unit behind pcm unit 2. How to wire the ipod wires and usb wires into the clovebox 3. MOST IMPORTANTLY - how do you provide power to the dension unit? I totally understand how the fiber optic loop works and connects, but I'm clueless on splicing/tapping/ creating power to the dension unit. Pictures would be great!!!! I feel really insecure on cutting wires or splicing things without being 100% sure how to do it. Also, do I need to disconnect battery? Am I in jeopardy of frying something, or shocking myself? Please Help! So I don't have to go to my dealer and pay them a million bucks for a job that will probably take an hour - plus I love to learn new things! Thanks everyone! chris
