  1. I've recently acquired a 2005 Boxster S and just love it. However it does have an annoying problem that my local Porsche specialist seems unable to get to the bottom of. When I turn the key to start the car there is a delay before the engine turns over and starts. This delay is very variable from 0 to 20 seconds or more. It doesn't appear to be related to whether the car is hot or cold and there is no other discernible sound when the key is turned, until the car starts. I've just returned from a trip from the UK to the Czech Republic and back (about 2000 miles) and the problem has not got any better or worse after traveling on German autobahns or winding mountain roads, through hot sunshine or torrential rain. Any ideas?
