  1. Hi All, This past weekend's project was to install my new B&M short shifter. Things got started well, and I was zooming (but carefully) going through each step. Well, I get to the final step prior to reinstalling the console and bingo........a problem....... I cannot get the cable to re-seed into the guides with the springs......... I placed the cables in the guides and released the springs a million times and the cable continue to pop out once I start testing the gears....... I have tried holding a small screwdriver against the cable as I test the gears.... Heck, I even put some duck tape around the cables while testing in the hopes the cables would marry to the spring ends while testing......... NO LUCK...... What am I doing wrong....... Why won't my cables and springs re-marry.......
  2. Ray.... Wow your knowledge is quite extensive.... So, I have several follow up questions: 1. If I understand correctly, you believe the header unit isn't as important as the coating....??? 2. I am also in the process of sifting through all the options for a bhp upgrade to my 2000 986-S...... Would you (or anyone else) agree / disagree with the below items I am planning............. a. GIAC ECU-Remap b. ScarGO - Carbon-Fiber Intake c. Teflon coating of the stock headers...??.... This will save a chunk of dough.. d. Tequipment Sport Muffler All feedback...... Good and Bad is appreaciated.......
  3. I have heard good things about the Dansk Sport exhaust for my 986-S. Any others out there to be on the look-out for...??? Thanks
  4. Hello to everyone, I am not a new Porsche owner, but I am new to the RennTech board. Glad to be a newly minted member.... I would like to replace the upper center console, which is currently black, with a savannah beige upper center console........ I have seen this on a 996 but never on a 986. Is this change possible for my 2000 986-S.....?? Any guidance and/or advice would be appreciated........
