  1. Thanks so much. Going to order both seals and clips. Hopefully, no internsl damage.
  2. Need a little help here. I am planning to change the front differential oil and found one side of the bearing pop out. ( attached picture ). Wonder how big of a trouble I got myself. Parts? Labor? Thanks, Simon
  3. Always want this car and finally get it. Hope it will come back with more appreciation from owners than putting them in the junk yard.
  4. ebay had these for ~$1000/pair. Quality is not as good as OEM of course.
  5. Just want to share the recent installation with a set of aftermarket headlights that wrapped with mesh film.
  6. Suggested to raise 22" and settle the engine to something firm like wood blocks. Transmission jack is highly recommended as you may adjust the x - y axis when you mate it to the engine.
  7. I finally replaced it with the NSK cylindrical bearing. After ~500kms, not problem so far. The original bearing was dual roll and they are still in great shape after 160K kms.
  8. I just had mine replaced with the roller type. 100miles on the car and the double roll bearing seems to be perfectly fine.
  9. I have swapped out my C4 3.4 transmission, but the main shaft bearing was shot. Upgrade to 3.6, double bearing one.
  10. I've just done that. I have switched out my MKI transmission with a MKII one. Mine is a 1999 C4, I have to change a shorter drive shaft as well. Other than that, everything is a perfect fit.
  11. Just want to share the pictures of my 1999 C4 convertible RMS IMS. If I am right, this seems to be a double roll bearing with minor leak from the RMS and possible some on IMS. Browsed online for the bearing and found way more choice on improved bearing than just LN Engineering. Anyone tried other improved version? Roller type? Pelican part ( Cheapest)? How bad is the leak? thanks, Simon
  12. Thanks for the input. I have an oil leak as well as gear pop-out issue. I read an article about the swap from G96/30 to G96/31 and found that the front output shaft is 2" longer. Do you experience the same issue? -sm
  13. Just wondering will a MK2 C4S transmission fit into a MK1 C4. Engine sizes are different 3.4 vs 3.6, but would the transmission compatible? thx,
  14. Not sure if this link will help. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-996-997-forum/408495-alternator-repair-regulator-replacement.html
