  1. I have recently changed my battery to Red top, and realized that the odometer has changed back from KM to MPH. Anyone in Canada Toronto know any shop can program this in KM? And how much? Any way to do it myself? thanks,
  2. Thank you all. It seems that most 996s runs around the "8 and 0" range during city driving. Anyone runs over the 215F mark? Would that be considering overheat? What will be the acceptable temp on track? smak
  3. thanks, I am planning to do a full radiator flush anyway. It won't do much in city driving as the added capacity is only a few liters. But once you are moving I think it helps quite a bit. Of course, be sure to check the radiators on your car now (and AC condensers) for debris that rob the cooling efficiency.
  4. thanks all. Loren, I read your 3rd or center radiator DIY upgrade. Will it lower the temperature in city driving condition of just hard track driving only? thx,
  5. Hi, After days of driving, I have found that the water temperature is about 10-20 F higher in city driving than highway. Is that normal? The picture below is the city driving reading. Highway reading is just above 180F.
  6. This is not crazy. That's delication. I certainly don't feel bad to buy a second one now. Call me CRAZY... I found Sears had a sale on their floor jacks... so I bought 4. Works Great...
  7. Wow, That's a good idea. This system has worked well for me, The jack and crosspiece are available from Pelican Parts. AC brand is expensive but there may be cheaper copies around in the US. The ramps are made from chipboard and give just enough height to run the jack under far enough to reach the crossmember.
  8. I am overwhelmed with the responses from this forum. You guys are awesome! Today, I spend a good hour drive with the top down to the golf course. To me, it was double happiness with the game of golf while commuting by my C4. Nothing can beat that. My car had 83k miles now. Kept my finger cross, so far so no major problem. CEL came on twice and diagnostic as O2 sensor after the cat. failure a week ago. Never came back on since. The car came with carbon fibre trim interior, but all cracked seriously. I have just repaint the center console to cover up those cracks. Door arm rests just wrapped with leather. After all, the whole OEM carbon fibre replacement cost about $3000 US. I would rather spend $$$ on wheels or other. There are more things for me to fine tune and replace. I am trying to list down a to do list, size the budget and prioritze the work. This car will be with me for years to come. I will chat with you car more often. Once I have time, I will post a few pic. regards, Smak
  9. Thanks for all the inputs. This is my 2nd week being an owner of this car. Though I have most of the receipts from previous owner, I am still in cautious mode right now. After all, there are risks buying a 10 years old car especially an early model of 996. Anyway, I will closely monitor all fluid level. It is a C4 cab. so unlikely sunroof drain.
  10. Hi,Looking for help regarding to a coolant leak.I have noticed minor coolant leak in front of the rear wheels of my 99 996 C4. I opened up the inside cover and found a hole leaking coolant which filled with dirt and mud. When I cleaned it, I found the dirt mixed with some broken rubber and a piece of thin round plastic membrane. If this is an overflow valve? I suspect something must be missing or broken.I check both sides of the car, same condition. Any thought?I have attached the picture in below. Thanks for your help.
