  1. Interesting you say that because mine recently starts to creep up but only if the a/c is in the off mode but if i turn the a/c on then it brings it down. Where is the low speed fan or relay at?
  2. Hey there evryone! In the last couple of days I have noticed like a beeping I think somewhere in the dash. The beeping almost sounds like a timed watch but it stops before I can pinpoint the location and doesn't go on forever. Has anyone hear this beep in their 996? Mine is a '99 C2 tiptronic.
  3. Could I go with the 19'' or 20'' with no issues on my 99 C2?
  4. I honestly believe this is normal because mine does it as well but just until it somewhat gets warm and then shifting is normal.
  5. Does anyone know what tires are on this porsche? :renntech:
  6. Live in Houston and we had extreme cold weather the night before last. Low 20's and i went out to start my car while getting dressed for work so it could run and be warmed up by the time i left but when i got there the CEL light was on. Immediately went to grab my code reader and cleared it. Since then (2 days) it has not returned and figured it might have been from the extreme cold dense air? 7. The FVD sounds nice, how much is that one? Is that a cat back system or just mufflers?
  8. :renntech: For those 996 aficianados and iphone owners there is a cool 996 skin that i ordered for my iphone and thought some might be interested. Check it out under skinz www.myrubberz.com Here is a shot at the entire link that will take you to the actual skin im referring to. http://www.myrubberz.com/disp_page.php?id=...iew&name=c7 :renntech: last cool piece i got was the battery case cause the iphone battery life is horrible!
  9. I read the FAQ and I am not seeing a TP button on my radio. I replaced my MAF sensor and unplugged the battery for about 1 minute and lost my code. The good news is that my hesitation on low speeds are gone and the CEL is still off. However, I have '99 C2 with the big navigation PCM radio and do not know how to get the serial number or model number. Is there a different method on getting the model number and serial number on this type of radio? :renntech: Thanks, JC
  10. Nick49 - Did you ever resolve this? If so, what did you find?
  11. Thanks for the quick response! Couple of questions, 1. Fuel injectors leaking i assume would be visible to the human eye if I start looking around the fuel rail? 2. Is there a DIY pictoral view of the EVAP canister purge valve? 3. Would something like durametric catch the fuel pressure? Thanks for the support.
  12. Hello to all, I am making my first post but have been reading now for a while. About three months ago I purchased a 1999 porsche 911 C2 and it ran well. Literally two days after I purchased it I got the CEL light so I ran it to a local shop where they work on Porsche and they changed the O2 sensor in bank 1 before the cat. The next day after leaving the shop the light goes off and this time the P1123 code went off so I went back to the shop and they cleared it stating it might have had some extra fuel it needed to burn since it was running rich. The light keeps triggering after a few days and it doesnt vary from P1123 and the car has 48,900 miles on it. I have cleaned the MAF sensor as decribed on a DIY post and the only thing I have noticed while driving it this whole time is there seems to be some slight hesitation on the low speeds like if your driving in 5th gear while only going 10-17 miles an hour. The shop stated it is a bad or clogged cat and wants to charge 1900 for parts and labor. I wanted to get some feedback from the group as we tend to have a lot of experience amongst the group. Thanks! JC :renntech:
