  1. Thanks Easiest job ever ..... can't believe I have left it for so long
  2. I too have this problem, been living with it for about a year or more. I thought that it was a case I needed to remove the bumper to locate the actual Headlight Washer units. I have had no gearbox work, or anything that I can think of that would require a garage to disconnect the Washer bottle in the first place. Is it a case that the piping could have worked its way loose from the washer bottle ?? And then all I need to do is to push the pipe back on ?? I did have some issues with the rear Windscreen washer, whereby the pipe came off in the boot lid and water leaked onto the Boot Cover which was a case that the piping had worked its way loose. I am in England, RHD so I just remove the headlight on the Drivers side and should be able to locate the disconnected pipes ?? Thanks
  3. Futher update - 17 October 2010 After dismissing Porsche East London, decided to keep an eye on the car. Again the Central Locking failed again and other things started to become eratic, the clock wouldn't hold the time when the engine switched off, the radio wouldn't hold the station, the Sat Nav was intermitent, and the front window de-mister didn't seem to have the power. Took it to Kwik-Fit to see if they could test the battery, though they were useless. Then noticed that the battery guage was only at 8 volts, and the oil temp just went to to the right side of the guage past the 150. Eventually got round to taking it to 911 Design in Hainault, explained the problems, so the guys there said that would have a look at the battery. After testing, it came back that the battery was only holding 6volts, but the good news the charging was at 14volts so it was just the battery. New battery fitted, everything is working well, Keyless entry, Sat Nav, Alarm I even think the car is running better :). Though the Battery and oil guage are still not responding. And cost for this, only £ 200. Really think I need to make a complaint to Porsche Main Dealer on their mis-diagnoses. Then they wonder why Main Dealers, they sometimes get a bad reputation.
  4. I too have problem with KESSY. Have an 03 Cayenne S, took to Porsche main dealer East London. Since owning the car the Keyless system has never worked, didn't realise I had it as an option. Therefore been happy of operating the central locking with the unlock button on the key. This though became erratic and I thought it was a problem with the key and needed a new one. Porsche ( East London ) had a quick look ( an hour and half ) and came back with a very long list of faults ( though touch wood car is running fine ). As to the Kessy they state they would like to check the car for about 3 hours to try and diagnose the fault ( So looking at £ 500 before they even start to fix it ). Possibly could be a dodgy earth. Or it maybe a case they will have to replace the Kessy unit and all 4 door handles !!!!!!! Quote of about £ 2,500 !!! Though they did replace the battery and so I am back to operating the central locking with the key again.
  5. Had the same problem of the passenger side footwell being wet. Have an 2003, Cayenne S RHD. Fault was the A/C unit behind the dash had a leak. Therefore flooded the footwell. Porsche Stratford, East London, UK repaired very reasonably.
  6. I have an 03 Cayenne S. Now the cold weather has arrived I have noticed that on a cold start, that the front windscreen mists up very quickly. So I push the Front Windscreen Demister, but it is a case I need to drive the car for half a mile, or about 2 minutes before the blowers kick in and clear the windscreen very quickly. Once this happens it is fine, until I stop again, leave the car until the next cold start and have the same problem again. Finding that I need to drive with front windows and sunroof open which isn't ideal until the blowers kick so I can at least drive, just about. Bought the car in December last year and did notice this problem, but was hoping that the fault would resolve itself, but thinking about it, the same situation in the Summer is that it would take half a mile or about 2 minutes before the Air Conditioning would kick in ?? Once covered the intitial distance, not a problem with temperature or control of the flow. Any thoughts would be appreciated
  7. Just to let you know, fixed this problem by following all your instructions, thank you very much. On inspection the whole of the locking mechanism had actually broken, no real surprise as it is made of plastic. Spoke to Porsche East Stratford, and after explaining they did not need to inspect the vehicle, ordered the part which is the locking mechanism, the cable and the glove box catch all in one simple part. And only £ 11.74 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Took me 40 minutes to replace, 8 screws to remove glove box, couple of further screws to take the old part out and then follow the reverse method to put it back together. Remember to thread the glove box catch through where the locking mechanism sits, and lead round to the glove box. Fantastic .............. feel very smart as saved myself I guess a couple of hundred quid ... Thanks !!!!!!
  8. I am an owner of a Cayenne S 2003, RHD. I assume that the resevoir would be on the driver side by the front wheel. I too have a leak problem whereby I am losing water from the Washer, as after filling the substantial reservoir, the warning message informed me it was low within a couple of weeks. After refilling noticed a puddle and a leak just in front of the driver side front wheel. I thought that it was a leak within the resevoir, but now after reading below link, I assume it could be the driver side head light washer assembly. Is this a case of a bit of dirt, or will I require a new assembly ??? Thanks Brendan
