  1. when replacing oil filter in 997s does it matter if I insert/seat the stem that contains the small O ring into the oil filter element separate from the oil filter cap? or should the cap and stem be inserted as one unit? reason for my question is when I remove the stem that contains the small O ring I noticed that part of the small O ring was cut by its seat edge. I found the remnant sitting next to the O ring receptacle... with the stem attached to the oil filter cap I notice the stem wriggles and when inserted into the oil filter housing it can cause a slight miss alignment and therefor the smaller O ring edge can be cut by the receptacles edge....
  2. That is what the service manual says -- and what I used on my own car and others. Much appreciated Loren... and thank you for the warm welcome sign....
  3. 17 ft lbs? sounds light. Thank you.
  4. does anyone know the proper torque for the muffler mounting bracket nuts on a 997 GT3? there are 3 nuts all together - it attaches the muffler to the mounting bracket...
