  1. Hi all- This car has a tow hitch and was told by the dealer that the sensor is "off to the side." Does any one have tips for getting this to work? I haven't gotten it to work at all. Tried standing directly behind and also off to the right. I tried bringing my foot back quickly as noted but still no success. The setting is correct in the car display.
  2. If this helps anyone else... the battery died last month and after a new battery was installed, this problem has rectified itself. This may indeed be another low battery symptom.
  3. 2006 Cayenne S. I've just experienced the lights of the steering wheel going dead a few moments after turning on the headlights. After turning off the car and re-starting, the same problem occurs (lights come on with headlights initially but then shut off). The two on/off buttons behind the steering wheel have no effect after the lights go dead (but do work when the steering wheel lights are functioning). Short somewhere? Any thoughts please? Thank you
  4. For what it's worth- a settlement check arrived today. I know others have received checks as well.
  5. One more data point... 2006 CS. Battery changed last month. Spontaneous "System Error..." message. Lost Nav, Amp, Phone. Tooki Satellite Radio and Bluetooth had been installed years ago. I temporally associated this error message with wife's plugging lactation pump into cigarette lighter and then losing power to central lighter sockets the day before. Replaced fuse #1 at left panel. And... problem solved! Thanks to others who have contributed here!
  6. I also experienced the squeaking noises in the front panel section. It was worse when driving over bumpy surfaces. My local dealer was able to lubricate the front panel area and the squeaks have disappeared. I suspect that they have seen many of these issues in the dry dusty climate here in Arizona. Good luck!
  7. I think you are correct - good find! The only reason why I recognize that part is because mine fell off just this past weekend during camping when I overstuffed the trunk. Thank you very much... it fits perfectly!
  8. I checked, and it doesn't seem to fit that area. The opening is too small for the DVD player. The window controls in the pictures give you an idea of relative scale.
  9. I searched high and low for a missing plate under the seat frames but could not find anything out of place or obvious to me... any pictures or diagrams available to point me in the right spot?
  10. I recently came back from 60K servicing of a 2006 Cayenne S and found this black plastic piece not put back into position... I would go back to the dealer but it's a longish drive just for this. Anyone available to help ID this cover (?) and where it goes? I looked deep into the foot spaces in the front and back but could not identify a location. Here are pictures Thank you
  11. I had the 4 Wheel Drive Warning come on twice over a 2 week period. Both times were at highway speeds in colder/wetter conditions. Dealer replaced the "servo potentiometer" via warranty. For over 1 month it appears to be fixed.
  12. No. This diagram refers to an outside spare wheel. I am asking about the black plastic splined knob that is used to turn the bolt on the collapsible spare wheel stored under the cargo space. The owner's manual called it, "rotary knob" on page 313 of the manual. Its resting position is in the center of this smaller spare. (I typed page 325 earlier. My mistake.) Thanks!
  13. Hello- What is the part number for the black plastic rotary knob that rests over the spare wheel? It is meant for the bolt that holds the wheel in place I believe. (page 325 of the 2006 manual) Thank you
