  1. Well the car is booked to go in to the OPC for the brakes and the horn (it is only on low tone at the moment, not hi and low), so I will wait till then and see if they are improved. Now for something different: The only time I've had to break hard is going through the Limehouse Link when I completely forgot about the speed camera just after the entrance at the Canary Wharf side heading to the City. I only remembered when I saw the white lines on the road. Given I go through it every day I was pretty pissed at myself :cursing:. The thing is I got flashed but haven't been ticketed yet, and it was over two weeks ago. Has anyone else been flashed in the Link without getting ticketed? The reason I ask is that I thought the cameras were digital so there was no chance of them being out of film?
  2. Thanks for the reply. I don't know if ABS kicks in or not as I don't think I have ever had to break hard enough for ABS. :drive: However it seems I need a lot of pressure to stop the car, noticeably more than my Boxster. My OPC said there is some form of machine they use which roughs up the surface of the discs. The thing is that when I look at the discs they don't look glazed. They look fine to me. Another thing is that once when I had to apply the brakes hard I noticed a juddering through the brake pedal. Is that normal?
  3. My OPC recently told me I should have my discs deglazed when I told them my braking performance wasn't what I was expecting from my recently acquired MY03 996 C2. Especially when I recall the excellent braking performance of my old Boxster. But I was wondering what is involved and how did the discs become glazed in the first place? There was mention of some machine they use to rough up the surface of the discs. Thankfully as I only bought the car from an OPC 5 weeks ago I'm expecting the cost to be covered by warranty or goodwill. By the way, the car has only done 9,000 miles.
