    Does that battery have a vent connection (to vent the battery acid vapors outside the car)? Yes, it does have a vent connection to vent outside the car. I replaced my Interstate with this one.

    My local auto tech's asst called a friend at a Porsche dealership and described my "check engine light," temp light, and gas gauge light all being illuminated. We checked the engine compartment area and noticed the coolant was below the minimum. He added Porsche coolant, let the car sit for 10 minutes, and then started it up. All of the illuminated lights were off. Problem solved for the day. I appreciate your comments and will be making a monetary donation to this website because it provides valuable information to Porsche owners.

    This morning I started up my 911 and drove to Costco to put gas (91) into my car. Everything was working fine :) I returned home, parked the car in the garage and then ate some breakfast. About an hour later, I started my car and noticed the "check engine light" was illuminated. In addition, the red light next to the fuel gauge and the red light next to the temp gauge were also illuminated. I thought for sure that I probably didn't secure the gas cap properly. I unscrewed it and then screwed it back on firmly. I then got into the car and drove for about 2 miles. The lights did not go off. I drove (apprx. 5 miles) the car to my local independent mechanic, Autobahn Motors in Tracy, Ca. The "master mechanic" who works on Porsche's was on vacation (returns Oct. 25), but his assistant tried to clear the codes with his hand held device, but was unsuccessful. While I'm waiting for the mechanic to return, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas regarding the problem. Recent maint: A new alternator & battery in August. An oil change 2 weeks ago. Current mileage is 40,800.

    This morning I went into Big-O-Tires (they use nitrogen w/free refill) in Tracy, Ca to get the air pressure checked for my tires. I went to America's Tire Co. first, but they don't use nitrogen and recommended I deflate my tires and put in regular air. When I purchased my tires from the dealership, they used nitrogen. My current tires are Michelin Pilot Sport Ribs Front: 225/40ZR18, Rear: 285/30ZR18 with nitrogen. I checked the owners manual for my 2002 911 Carrera Cabriolet and it recommended the front tire air pressure at 36psi and the rear at 44psi. My question is, is this the best setting for normal driving and does it matter whether I use nitrogen as oppossed to regular air?

    I currently charge my 911 Carrera with a Deltran Battery Tender Charger by raising the hood and then charging it directly to the battery. My question is can I charge the battery from the engine (+) and (-)? I did a search and was not able to find the answer.

    I just replaced my Interstate Battery with a World Source One battery. I don't have too much info for it, but it's the battery my repair shop recommended. It comes with a full unconditional 24 month warranty. World Source One

    I had my charging system tested and at the conclusion of the test, it indicated that I need a new battery. I was going to replace it with an Interstate Battery which is what I currently have, but Eurotech in Livermore, Ca recommended the World Source One battery. I'm going to give WSO a try and see how long it last. I was wondering if anyone else has a WSO battery? Also, what other battery have you guys used to replace your batteries?

    I have a 2002 911 Carrera Cabriolet (C2) and when I was leaving Texas Roadhouse after dinner last week, one of my friends noticed the right rear fog lamp was not illuminated. All of the front and rear lights work, but when I pull and turn the lights onto the fog light position, the rear right fog light does not work. The left rear fog light works fine. A European repair shop told me that the American cars were made with the left rear fog light working, but not the right rear fog light. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS CORRECT?
