  1. Found one at my dealer... I'll go back in a few days once they've cleaned it up to get a better picture.
  2. Thanks guys... Anyone happen to see a white 997 with the red lenses.?. I think I still like the grey lines in my taillights, ties together with the grey side marker lights... Well with Atlas Grey anyway...
  3. There are 2 pages of advice and stories here... http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=13358 I just apply 100% braking from highway speeds and it should quiet down...
  4. Mine just started too... A 2005 C2S with 20,000km. I did a few abs engaging hard stops and now it's gone. It took a few times, and not at slow speeds, like 100 km/h (62 mph) to 0 FAST. Now my wheels are really dirty, but my brakes are silent.
  5. You can also take a look at this topic... http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...&hl=spacers There are some before and after pics. ...I mainly put them on to keep the same clearances with fatter tires. They also bring the wheels to the edge of the fender pretty nicely.
  6. ...I had someone in a 996 Turbo race me late one night. After it was all done, thumbs ups were exchanged.
  7. If the car interior is warm, the air will be directed to the dash vents, if it's cold, the foot vents. There will be a noise when it makes that transition. It'll still do it if the AC is off or do you mean when the climate control is off?
  8. I do it all the time... It happens in every car or truck I've driven. I think it's just the noise the power steering makes when it hits a lot of resistance... It would make the same noise if your wheel was against a curb and you tried to turn.
  9. ...could be the climate control changing the air flow to the vents. Especially if there was a temperature difference in the car since you last drove it.
  10. 1stporsche - Check the manual, but if I remember correctly it says at 24,000km (15,000 miles) or once a year, whatever comes 1st. My 2005 C2S burnt a quart within the first three months but hasn't used enough for a top up since. But then I only drive it 9,000km (5,600 miles) a year...
  11. ...no wife and my girlfriend doesn't drive manual.!. Dodged a bullet there! :clapping:
  12. I had something similar happen with my 05 C2S... The dealer corrected it, there is a service bulletin that they're aware of...
  13. I've had 7 nails in 2 summers... And I've had BMW patch them every time (since my Porsche dealer wont), no high speed blowouts yet... I doubt I or anyone else could push the car hard enough on public roads to cause the patch to fail. The only time I didn't repair was when the puncture was near the sidewall... That was the last one and it cost me 2 305/30/19s.!. Now I have an extra with 40% wear.
  14. No power? Well now I understand why you were planning on removing the battery... I'm sure there's a manual release for the hood somewhere, incase the button fails. But the easiest thing would be to close the lid to where the safety latch catches.
  15. ...maybe try to fill the tanks next time. Less chance of humidity forming in the vacant part of the tank. Doing an oil change 1st will also reduce the chance of impurities settling.
  16. I stored my C2S last year, and my M3 for the 3 previous years. All you need to do is buy a battery maintainer to keep charge and the battery from freezing, over-inflate the tires to about 50-55psi (no flat spots in the spring), and cover with a breathable car cover. I also have the yearly service done before storing, fill the gas tank to the top and add stabilizer. A few people have mentioned not to leave the car on jacks for the exact reason Deanski mentioned, parts of the suspension would be exposed that usually aren't. Everything worked perfectly when I took her out after a 4 month hibernation, started without hesitation.
  17. They should fit... The brakes on the S are the same size at the brakes on the non-S and they come standard with 18s. The PCCBs aren't any bigger that the stock brakes, just composite. You could still get winter 19s... They are available, I just installed a set for our M6 Convertible... ...keep your stock rims and throw on new rubber.
  18. ...getting one that breathes is a good idea too. You wouldn't want to come back to a moldy car.
  19. I store my C2S from December until March or April. My dealer gave me the Porsche battery maintainer as a gift when they delivered my car. Just plugs into any 12v outlet, the cord is thin enough to go straight out under the door with the door closed and locked. Works perfectly, she started right away without hesitation after months. They all work pretty much the same, I had a BMW version when I had an M3... The only concern I would have is whether or not the cheaper versions would maintain a consistent charge and what kind of shut off they're equipped with. You really wouldn't want to damage your battery.
  20. Yes, it cuts off at lower speeds with anything more that minor acceleration. I was told it was all normal operations... But since I didn't pay a couple thousand dollars to not hear my exhaust, I disconnected the shut-off. Now it's on all the time. Unless I'm pushing it, it's not too loud for the neighborhood and my dealer doesn't have any issues with what I've done.
  21. I do have the PSE system installed on my C2S but it's activated through my Sports Chrono package... So no light to tell me what it's doing. I did however find the way the system works kind of annoying, turning on and off all the time, mainly when I didn't want it to. If you like the sound of sport mode, just disconnect the lead powering the bypass valves...
  22. ...I just came back from the garage... Too close to the sidewall to repair. Brand new tires from June, now I need to buy two because of the different wear, $976.00!!! Oh well, I guess I'll have a half used spare now. Any reason why these are such screw magnets? I guess the width (305-30-19) along with the softness of the rubber.?.
  23. It's funny you say that... I found ANOTHER screw in one of my rears yeaterday... That's 6 in the last 2 summers.
