  1. Have You checked the cable connection behind the bumper? If You have removed the bumber it's very easy to forgott to connect the cables
  2. Answer from 9ff in Germany: We know this kind of starting problems. Most times the reason is a broken fuel pressure hold valve. Its position is inside of the fuel tank in the pressure line 10 cm away from the fuel pump. The car needs it to hold the fuel pressure in the lines between engine and pump. If it is broken the fuel in the lines on top of the engine becomes hot and goes from liquid to gas. Then engine can not start any more before it is cooled down. Check the valve and let me know.
  3. I checked the stroke for the wastegatevalves today, on the right side everything was ok, but for the left side I could notice a leakage from the vacuum box. The car was running ok before without any strange noticed, correct boost pressure and so. Also in the OBD reader there was no fault Why didn't I see any strange then driving the car ? :unsure:
  4. Anyone that knows if it's possible to use another software together with TRIPLE COMBO network gateway from http://www.obd-2.com. The software should be more adapt for Porsche 996 such as the one from Durametric Software.
  5. The instruction text is copied from a workshopmanual (I will not print the manufactor).I think the translation had been done from German into english. "Installation position of the pedals in accordance with the series condition" mean?? -I think they mean that You have to check the installation of the pedals, (not correct installed as it should be). Procedure to check clutch pedal: Clutch: checking the play and pedal end position - Checking clutch free play - Checking the pedal end position (pedal return/return force) - Checking clutch free play The clutch master cylinder has an inner stop. The push rod and the clutch pedal are always pressed against this stop by the boost spring. Due to the automatic hydraulic adjustment of the clutch, it is not possible to determine the clutch play by checking at the clutch pedal. top of page Checking the pedal end position (pedal return/return force) - Check that the pedal is in end position by pulling at the pedal (without the use of force) towards the driver's seat. Note · The pedal must not give way during the process. · If it gives way, the fault is in the boost spring or in the pedals. The clutch push rod and the boost spring are not adjustable. The boost spring has 2 functions, namely to provide pedal force assistance and to return the pedal. The following are some of the points which are requirements for perfect clutch operation: · Correct bleeding of the clutch hydraulics. · No leaks in the hydraulic system. · Pedal return to the starting position. · Installation position of the pedals in accordance with the series condition.
  7. Is it anyone that knows how the orginal muffler (996tt-03) looks like inside ?. Should be very nice to see a picture or a drawing.
  8. Is it any coupling between dump valve and ABS system, for example if I change the dump valve to a not Porsche original, can I have a mismatch with the ABS and PSM system ?

Where exactly are the dump valve placed?(pic) I was with Jonas this weekend and we could read out a fault number P1250. this code says: - Boost Pressure Control Deviation - Above Limit and the one of the faults could be: Adjust by pass flaps, but what is the "by pass flaps", is it the same as dumpvalve? It's also a warning for a bad brake pad, could that course the low boost preassure? Bad brakes---> Low boost preassure????
  10. What componets are "talking" through the bus ? Anyone that have a basic schematic that shows the bus
  11. What's the CAN-bus ? I can guess it's a sort of communication bus, but what kind of signal, information are send in the bus ? Is it any plug for connect an external PC such as for the OBD or is it the same plug ? Is it necessary to have any special modem for reading the values to an external PC (if possible)?
  12. I mean the little plastic tube attached on the red ring. It's the same red ring on the other side but no pin for connection. The plastic house is going up to the engine compartment. (I saw this then I change the sparkplugs and got intressted what the function was for.)
  13. Anyone that knows what the function with this plastic tube ahead of the turbo charger at the driver side? It's nothing at the other side.

I got 9ff wheels with center lock on my car, the only thing You need to change is to take away the "five bolts" thats are inside the rim, on my car it's also spacers that are fitted with this bolts and replace this bolts with original wheel bolts. You also need to change the center bolt to a original center nut (for wheel bearing). The center bolt is only locked with a spring and a washer. The job is done less than 30 minutes.
  15. The oil is dark green. It's also very aggressive to rubber material, so be careful then/if you fill more oil. (Special the AC hoses). You should have a cap (d=7mm) close to the filler cap, check so that one is in the right place and not gone. It's also very important that you use Pentosin cfh11s oil. BMW use also pentosin oil if it's difficult to get in your town. I bought a bottle from the BMW dealer in my town and the bottle have also the Porsche number on.
  16. If You getting low level of oil, You can sometimes hear a screaming sound from the power steering pump, but You will not notice any harder to steer
  17. I did that last friday, but .... Sweden is not longer after the update. Anyone that knows the possibility to use from another car ? For example it's possible to use OPEL cd's in PCM1, I have done that in my 99-c2 and thats simple, it's only to take the database from OPEL cd and put that into the Porsche nav cd. and then it covers all of Sweden
  18. The cd was great, I got the answer about the DME setpoints (and also much more). The cd is much better quality than you get at: http://www.alldatadiy.com.
  19. I have also problem with codes 172 and 175. The problem on my car (I hope) was that one of the hoses from the turbo charger to the air cooler was a little bit out of position, the locking spring was not fasted correct.
  20. I have the fault codes P0172 and P0175, this codes could comes up if it's a problem with the purge valve, mag sensor, leaking injectors or an leakage in the vacuum system. So I wants to check if it's any problem with the purge valve.
  21. Hi Loren, Where would I find the options list? This code does not appear on my Window Sticker. Is it on a decal on car? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Have a look into the service book, Your original hood might have been replaced
  22. Where is the EVAP purge valve located? Anyone that have a picture, there is valves everythere in the engine compartment! The car is 996 TT-03 See atachment if anyone can understand that better than me.... Vacum_connections.pdf
  23. What's the function of this secondary air pump ? Is it easy to check if it's working ?
  24. Have You checked the cd-changer, if the power supply to the cd-changer is gone You will not hear anything. You can also disconnect the fiber cable to the cd-chanfer and check if You have a red light from the contact. If not You have a problem with the fiber cable or PCM
