  1. Hi all, I currently still have a 997C2S Coupe Tip that has just crossed its 4 year of ownership. The car has been driving great but occasionally I find that there are some intermittent noises whilst driving. I suspect that either the ball joints or bushings could have been worn out after more than 45,000 km of city driving. Since I am planning to swap this parts out, I like to know if there any upgraded flamblocs (Bushings) or ball joints that would sharpen up the ride and improve its handling? Are there any easy to install polyurethane bushings available? Would the bushings from a 997GT3 fit a regular 997C2S? I look forward to your responses. Thanks in advance. B)
  2. That fact puzzled me too. My V6 has PASM just like the turbos so I guess there should be no issues with regards to the suspension system but then again, the steering rack is a different matter. <_<
  3. Hi, Please do not misunderstand, the Chief Technician did not discriminate against the use of aftermarket rim. He simply mentioned that 22" had caused steering rack problems for several CTTs already, so he suspects that 20" may cause similar problems for the CV6 with the standard setup although no V6 has installed any ultra large wheels yet. It seems that the OEM 20" option is not applicable for the V6, is this true? Does anyone here use Kahn Design wheels or have any comments about them? Those rims look great and seem reasonably priced too.
  4. I understand that the OEM 'Aero-twin' wipers does not perform very well at speeds exceeding 200km/h. It seems that the wiper would flex 'outwards' or 'float' at the ends under excessive wind pressure. This is the same problem experienced by several of the high performance marques. So they have retrofit it back to the conventional wiper type which has more rigidity. Any comments?
  5. Been asking our local Chief technician from the local dealership, I understand that fitting a 20" wheel for street use may damage the steering rack. It will result in some gradual clicking sounds when you are executing a turn. I have heard large wheel upgrades affecting the suspensions and bushings but not the steering gears?! He claims that the steering rack is different between the V8 and the V6 variants too. Can anyone confirmed this fact? Regards
  6. Is there a website or email contact for carwel aluminum pedals Are they OEM for Ruf parts?
  7. Many thanks buddy, they have finally responded and the pipes are on the way. Woo-hoo! :jump: Can't wait to get it fitted on. Cheers B)
  8. I am considering to replace those stock rims to possibly aftermarket 20" rims to achieve that unique look. :king: Are there any suggested options for brands and size? Any pics would be helpful. :jump:
  9. Hi, I have tried emailing them to request for a purchase but I have not got a reply so far. :( Are there any email address I should try? Person to contact would help too. :) Thanks in advance B)
  10. Thanks for the prompt response. :) I will enquire with my dealer about remapping the DME with W516. :lightbulb: The Fabspeed option looks very tempting and from the previous posts, it should be a breeze to install it too. :) Has anyone tried the ECU upgrade yet? Do we have to replace it with an exchange module with a diagnostic tool to 'marry' the car? :help:
  11. Salutations to all, I have just recently acquired a fabulously new Black/Havanna '05 Cayenne V6 complete with PASM, Auto-Climate control, Bi-Xenon options. :clapping: Pardon my ignorance as I am relatively new to this prestigious marque. However, I have gathered thru the posts that there are some teething problems such as: 1) 'Chassis' vibrations 2) Loss of oil thru piston rings 3) Gear shifting issues from 'D' to 'R' 4) Jerky transmission on the road I also plan to mod: 1) Fabspeed 2ndry by-pass cat 2) 20" wheels (What size of rim width is appropriate?) 3) ECU upgrade 4) Side marker lamps 5) more.... I would love to contribute to the forum as time goes by. I'd appreciate if some kind souls in this community could point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance. ;) Cheers B)
