  1. hi all, i have searched and found info on rear drains but not the front sunroof drains.

    2006 997 c2 coupe.

front 2 trunk drains were clogged and are now cleaned - is there more than 2 to worry about?

Sunroof drains - went through the car wash the other day and there was a wet spot in the front drivers corner of the headliner.  I am assuming this is the sunroof drains.  I have found info on getting to the rear drains by removing the headliner (is this a brutal chore or not too bad?)

But I have looked al over with little success on the front drains.  I am assuming you have to also remove the headliner - any info on this?

Is there anything else I should be checking regarding this?

    thanks

  2. hi all - just researching for future as one day we plan on having a panamera...

what is the feasability / possibility of a larger dog riding in the back of a panamera with the seats folded down? How about with one seat down and one up so mom, dad, human kid and fur kid can ride along.

    Thanks in advance

  3. Hi everyone, just looking for some input on this.

    MY 2003 cayenne S - 160,000km

p 0155 o2 sensor heater curcuit bank 2 sensor 1 = Oxygen Sensor Ahead of Catalytic Converter, Bank 2 - Signal Implausible

p 0021 camshaft position - timing over - advances or sytem performace bank 2 = Adjustment of Inlet Camshaft in relation to Crankshaft, Bank 2 - Signal Implausible

p0050 h02s heater control curcuit bank 2 sensor 1 = Oxygen Sensor Heating Output Stage Ahead of TWC, Bank 2 - Open Circuit

I just wanted to clarify a few things:

bank 2 is drivers side (left hand drive car) correct?

p0050 and p0155 are indicating the same 02 sensor ?

is the camshaft error related to the o2 sensor errors?

I already replaced the o2 sensor on the passenger side - infront of the cat - as had a different code last year.

    thanks

    brent

  4. Is this the same tank of fuel it was stored with or fresh petrol? If you clear the codes do any of them return? It's safe to drive so long as the check engine light is not flashing and the engine sounds ok but this problem must be addressed asap.

Yes - same tank of gas - but it did have the fuel stabalizer. reset the codes and they come back. when driving, the light will be solid - get a beep on the dash and the check engine flashes a few times then goes solid again.

  5. 2006 porsche 997 c2, 44,000km = 27500mi

I put the car on the road last week (after being parked for a few months-properly winterized-oil changed, fuel stabalizer, battery maintainer all winter) and has ran gret for a week

Here is what happened on my way down to a meeting last night...

It was driving fine, then I put my foot in it a little bit and noticed a change in the engine a slight hesitation, rough running then the check engine light came on - solid then blinking

I scanned it after my meeting and got this

P0300 Factory Fault code 507 misfire detection

    P0301 FFC 508 misfire cylinder 1

    P0305 FFC 512 misfire cylinder 5

    P0303 FFC 510 misfire cylinder 3

    P0304 FFC 511 misfire cylinder 4

Also found this PAS 8004 supply voltage clamp.

On the way home, the car ran a bit rough could feel the engine vibration in the seat a bit - I checked with my mechanic if it was ok to limp it home

No Smoke, no oil leeks. Just seems wierd as the cylinders affected are in banks 1 and 2

What do you think coils/plugs/MAS/bad gas - just praying that I am not in line for engine failure

Also - am I able to drive the 10 km to my mechanics like this?

    THanks in advance - brent

  6. Hey All, I have a 2003 cayenne S, and am getting durametric error code p0030. I have been able to find out that it is HO2S - oxygen sensor heating output stage ahead of TWC Bank 1.

My question - which O2 sensor needs replaced? where is ist? what is TWC? And is BAnk 1 drivers or passenger side.

Also, on a different topic - I have had an issue with the following warning on start up - gives me the "!" but sets no durametric codes - and my dash displays tlells me to "check headlight beam adjustment" I have done this as per the manual, but just can't get it to quit beeping at me on start up - any help on what I am missing or how to reset this would be great

  7. The PCM should be removed to check the fuse. All works done related, or in the PCM area, can blow the fuse.

    RFM,

Started to work on the PCM tonight - removed driver side panel (they sure made this an easy procedure), then went to work on the passenger side - radio was on as it could not be shut off and would turn on anytime a door was opened.

So as I was getting the passenger side panel off, the screen changed - low and behold - all the buttons worked, nav comes up - etc!

Gues I scarred it into working! It must have realized it was going to be removed and decided to co-operate! Or it just was a little late coming out of hibernation form the canadian winter

Thanks for all the input. I will keep an eye on things and if it recurs will try and figure things out again.

  8. The PCM issue can be the result of the i-pod FM modulator, check also the fuse on the rear of the unit. If you cant see anything, a PIWIS should be needed.

    RFM,

Do you mean that a griffin little FM modulator that plugs into the cig lighter could be the issue? Even though it hasn't been used?

    Brent

ALSO, for the fuses on the back - do you have to pull the radio, or can you get at them with it installed? And can an FM modulator blow the fuses?

    Thansk again Brent

  9. Thanks for the heads-up. Any idea how this seat compare to the Combi Dakota discussed in this thread: http://www.renntech....d-booster-seat/ It sounds like there is a big price difference. Having said that, I am more interested in finding out about which one fits best.

The maxi cosi has a full back that can be removed when they get older. It looks a bit narrower as well. I was able to get mine for $159 canadian.

    Brent

    Brent,

can you post some pics of the setup? I currently use the Radian 80 and it's not pretty but it does kind of work. My daughter turns 4 in 11 months so I will be looking for something that fits better.

where did you get your maxi cosi? All the places I looked at sell it for $199 CDN + taxes. I see you are in BC so maybe I am out of luck.

I will attempt the picture posting shortly. It was the last of the stores stock so they were blowing it out. Even at $199 cdn, it would be a good deal to have somthing that fits properly.

    pics to follow

  11. Hello all,

Just picked up a booster seat that fits perfectly in the back of the 997

    Maxi Cosi Rodi XR

It is a high back booster, that converts to backless - good for 40-100 lbs.

It fits great - does not wiggle, aligns belts perfectly - sits far back to give leg room for the munchkin-and sts perfectly square - not off to the side.

I tried my britax marathon and sunshine kids radian 60 and it was going to be a battle with those - this is a way better option.

  12. Well, the snow is gone, spent half the night on getting the car ready for its maiden voyage (aluminum pedals, door sills, ipod-fm modulator mounted, fresh coat of wax) but the PCM is stuck on a single radio station.

The only button that works is volume - can't change anything els on the radio.

    It is a MY2006 997c2 - with the pcm/and Nav (dvd based)

Any suggestions - and yes - it was on a battery maintainer all winter.

I tried a soft rest with the "147" buttons - but nothing hapens.

    THanks in advance

  13. Hi all - I have tried to search this with no luck.

I just got my 2006 997 c2 this week - and it has been parked in the garage. I installed my pigtail - hardwire leads for my battery maintainer and lucky me - cross threaded the nut on the battery post!

So after dremeling off the bolt and replacing it - I should be good to go.

    Issues:

    1) Pretty sow to start - The car has been at the dealer for probably 2-3 months with little use and no charging. I have left it on the trickle over night to see if that makes an initial improvemnet then I will get the battery tested and replace if necessary (car is a 2006, but went into service in aug 2005 so the battery is 4 yrs old - and the car has 40,000 KM on it)

    2) If I have to replace the battery - is a radio code requirred? i have the PCM with nav/telephone etc - just wondering if it is coded to the vehicle like the cd23 is in my cayenne

    3) I now have the system fault code - must be from messing with the battery - will this reset with use as it relearns? I am not sure if I lost any battery connectiong during my dremel surgery!

    Thanks in advance

    Brent
