  1. If there is no room for an adult in the front with a forward facing child (20lbs +) seat in the rear, why do porsche sell one for the rear?
  2. So it looks like I may have to just keep the Boxster S as my "toy" and get a proper four seater :( . By the way I am 5' 9" and my wife is 5' 1"
  3. Thanks guys! Would I be right in assuming that for a new born rear facing is the only option or can I use front facing as well. When I had my first 2 kids (almost 20 years ago!!!!) there was no such thing as rear facing seats. I need to be able to get my wife and the baby in the Carrera, otherwise it is not going to be an option :(
  4. Well one week after getting my Boxster S, we find out m wife is pregant! (ops). So no it looks like a 996 is in my near future. Am I correct that you can fit a baby seat in the rear of a 996? Thanks David
  5. No, I have the original TomTom Go and just dowloaded the version 5 upgrade from theire website - it is very easy. If you want the new bluetooth connectivity then you would need to by the new 500 or 700. David
  6. How good is the factory alarm / imobiliser, compared to aftermarkert ones? (I have a just picked up my new 2001 Boxster S) David
  7. I have TomTom Go and it is excellent! I have used both in the UK and here. They have just brought out a new version of the operating system which has a lot of new features including being able to choose the shortest, quickest, walking or cycling routes. Also if there is a toll bridge, tunnel or road on your route it gives you the option of going around it. It picks up sattelites better than any other GPS I have used and that is just using it's internal antenna. I used it yesterday in my new (used) 2001 Boxster S that I picked up in Long Island to get me back to Manhattan which it did brilliantly. My Boxster has a PCM1, but the discs are bad so the Porsche dealer has ordered new ones for me. Let me know if you have any other questions. DAvid
  8. I did, but I could not find anything specific to the PCM1, like does it have an aux output which I beleive it must have as I think it supports a CD changer and also what type of connector does it use. Thanks David
  9. Can someone tell me whether a 2001 Boxster S has a glass rear window in the soft top as standard. Thanks David
  10. Hi, I just bought my first Porsche, a 2001 Boxster S. It has the Porsche Communication Management Option with Navigation. I would like to interface my iPod to it, but I do not want to use an FM transmitter or casette adaptor option. Does anyone know whether something like the Monster iCruze would work with it? Has anyone actualy interfaces their iPod directly? Thanks for your help David
