  1. "Spirited" ... I have to tell my Wife that one {:-) BIG THANKS AS USUAL You always help out.
  2. 2006 997S - Coupe 78k MIles I have a pair of pretty decent Bridgestone Potenza RE050A on the rear. I have put about 10k on them and the inner thread is showing through, seems every 10K the rears need replacing I do drive a little agressive but no too crazy. Do 997s often lose alignment? or for a semi-agressive driver is this to be expected ?
  3. Just got off the Phone ... Ordered THANKS AGAIN. Those numbers really helped.
  4. EVOMS been around forever(well most of my days) will look into those guys also. Thanks
  5. BIG THANKS!!!! I really like the look of the euro-plates. Would love to see some of your pics. Here are a few from my trip. Got to rent a 997S for 5 days.. Pics: http://picasaweb.google.com/117546727215324165192 Drive:
  6. Well I have a dilema here. I am all set to Flash my 997-1S using the Softronic Software seen here: Softronic Then I find this: FVD Looks like the same thing, but with a different logo, who actually made the software and where do I go to get it done. I would rather deal with who actually wrote the flash software, seems AS important as the files that are being downloaded in case something goes wrong with my 70K+ investment. Thoughts???
  7. Took a trip to the PORSCHE Museum and really want to pick up this plate for my 06 S. Snapped this photo out front. Any ideas on where to get AN ORIGINAL OEM. Not the cheap ones that snap the plate in. I like the open plate look better and really want this exact type. Thoughts ??? And I know some folks don't like these :-))
  8. Great thanks AGAIN!!! Now comes the hard part taking it apart :-|
  9. Yep that's the one did find a post on removing it. But I am wondering on a 997 if you remove the Radio do you need codes to put it back in.
  10. I want to paint the silver center PCM console's faceplate to match my car's exterior color flat black. The soft paint is all worn out and white is showing through. Pulling the PCM is easy but feel like an idiot for not knowing how to remove the actual faceplate PLEASE HELP!! :help:
  11. Yep. Was referring to OIL temp :-) At the shop may need a water pump small leak is running kinda hot 225. Thanks
  12. Ahh Ha.... Oh how I LOVE this forum. Could you guide me to a good DIY on this. Dont want to damage my baby..
  13. I have a: 2006 997S Manual 57k miles It seem to be running a little hot. Needle was always right at 9 Oclock now getting closer to 200 and 10 Oclock What is IDEAL I checked level and seems fine. :thankyou:
  14. 2006 997-1 S 50k Miles 6 Speed Hey again guys. I have been kinda tapped lately so instead of dishing out 1200 for a pair of Pilot Sports for the REAR SET. I went with a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE 960AS Pole Position 295/30-19 nice tires and they feel AWESOME at 0-80. The thing is when I am turning at around 75 - 80. I have a sway steering feeling. Have I really screwed up by not getting ALL 4 Matching tires? I was under the assumption that as long as the L-R REAR match and L-R FRONT match. Is this an issue or do I just need to get use to my new tires. Just wondering if there is a HAZARD in doing this. To be clear: I have a MATCHING SET Pilot Sports FRONT I have a MATCHING SET Bridgestone Potenza REAR :drive: Thanks Again, Stephen
  15. Hello Guys, Still loving my 911 .. There is a slight squeak sound when I turn left between 10-20 MPH Front Left Side Wheel, is this common and if so could someone point me in the right direction? Is it my CV Joint? 2006 997.1 S Manual 48K Miles BIG Thanks in Advance :renntech:
  16. RennTech Gurus :notworthy: I have an: 2006 997.1 S Coupe Manual 40K Miles I would love to do this, if it exist, anyone know if this option is really available or better yet had it done on an older 997. Link: Porsche to Offer Live Exhaust Note Tuning "Porsche will offer the system as a dealer-installed option that can be retrofitted to older versions of the car." Thanks
  17. I bought an OBDII reader a while back for my 07 Passat and would like to use it on my: 997-1 S '06 6 Speed Manual 44K Miles Would like to use it to read System Fault Visit Workshop Errors. I ALWAYS liked that with my VW, so when I brought to the dealer I would have the error codes printed out felt like I had the upper hand (until they gave me the bill that is :-| ) Could someone point me to a trusted OBDII software that will work on my PC AND\OR an affordable hardware\software kit? Thanks in Advance, :renntech:
  18. Thanks for the info. Sale date if the car was new when Purchased. Take it to the dealer if you are still under warranty
  19. Was driving home and while coasting in 3rd felt sort of what I would describe as a shutter it continued for about 2 minutes, almost as if pushing the clutch pedal then releasing quickly, more of a transmission stop and go feel than lack of fuel. Also it is an 06 with 44k does the warranty go by the exact calendar year or sale date. Any ideas :lightbulb: or similar experiences before I hit the Dealer? Thanks in Advance: 44K Miles - 2007 997-1 S Coupe 6 Speed Manual
  20. Is it usual to have to top off oil in my 997.1 S Manual '06 with 40k miles? I seem to have to add a quart every month or so there are NO OIL leaks while sitting. I park in the same spot at work, and nothing in my garage. Just wondering if this is usual for a Porsche of that year. Thanks in Advance
  21. LMFAO!! The fella who works on my car also works on lots of HIGH END stuff. One day while dropping my 997S off for an oil change, he drove me to work in a GT2 WOW!! I will never be the same again. I wonder if folks who own GT2s say "If it were a just little faster" like us 997 S guys. Anyway thanks for all the feedback. I think I am going to leave well enough alone, stop tweaking and start my Turbo or GT2 savings account. GREAT FORUM BTW!! :thankyou:
