The most straightforward way is obviously to go and have a look at the car :-) When pressing the Phone button, the PCM3 suggested to connect a phone, so I assume (at least) the 666 option Bluetooth HFP is present. There is no phone cradle, so there still could be the phone module (e.g. ability to insert a SIM card) as in my 996. However, I'm perfectly happy with the BT solution. I noted that 666 was not to be found on the options sticker in the service booklet. Thanks for all the replies!
Hi Loren, 2009, 997 gen 2, carrera 4, convertable, originally supplied to Belgium, now in the Netherlands.
Dear Forum, Preparing the (possible) purchase of a 997.2 C4 cab here in Europe. It has the PCM3 unit installed with 'extended' navigation. On the options list, there is no mention of 'Bluetooth' or 'phone', so my guess is that it is not present. Perhaps the forum can advise me on some related questions: What would be required to retrofit the original Bluetooth hands-free function? (I'm not looking for option to insert a SIM card in the PCM3) I found somewhere that this is not just a software update, but involves a module (the Bluetooth radio?). moreover, also the microphone would need to be retrofitted. Correct? The software upgrade likely needs to be activated - only available via the dealer network. Correct? I understood that there was (is?) an option with a phone cradle as well as one without, What is the option number 618, 619, both, or..? Other tips/suggestions?
